Two men with painful, complicated pasts who have shut
themselves down from ever loving again. Complete opposites of one another, one
raised in a strict military household, who grew up with the sole purpose of
becoming a soldier and defending his country, only to have that cut short by an
IED; and the other raised in the rodeo, small town and ranch life his safe
haven; and their chance meeting.
How the two of them end up in some small town diner can only
be credited to divine intervention. But are both men too damaged? They say God
works in mysterious ways. Well, he certainly had his hands full when he chose
these two for saving.
Is it too late?
His war has just begun.

Read an excerpt:
New York was quite a bit different
than their little hometown, but to a young man ready to embark on his own life,
it was exciting. So as they had arranged, after a strong season and defending
his title in bull riding plus coming in second in bareback bronc riding, Chris
said goodbye to youth rodeo. He’d just turned eighteen and instead, he left
home and headed to New York for his freshman year.
“I don’t know about these,” Chris
complained. He had gone to the mall with a few friends from school, intending
to get himself some New York clothes.
He had discovered that his wardrobe,
which had always comprised jeans, t-shirts or button up shirts, his cowboy hat
and his boots didn’t work so well on a
college campus in New York. It was all he’d ever known, but he had a group of
friends determined to help him fit in.
“I think they look okay,” Adam
stated, looking at the running shoes. He and Chris had dated on and off for a
few months, but neither was looking for anything serious.
“They look good, Chris,” Becky, another close friend
added. “They have good traction and it will certainly be easier to run in these
than in your boots,” she teased. She still giggled when picturing the look on
their gym teacher’s face their first day of class. He took one look at Chris
and nearly resigned right then. That was before he discovered how athletic
Chris was.
“You think so?” He looked up at
her. They felt funny so he walked around to try them out.
“We also need to get you some
shorts,” Adam stated.
“Gonna feel like I left the house
without any pants on,” Chris joked.
“I don’t think anyone in class
will mind that one bit,” Becky teased. “I understand those thighs are to die
for!”
Adam smiled. “That they are.”
“Fine,” Chris huffed, grabbing
the empty box and his old pair of boots. “I’m buying these and keeping them on
to get used to them. Now if you two will stop discussing my performance in the
bedroom, I’d like some help getting a few other things,” he reprimanded, a
smirk always just below the surface.

Who is Shelly Davidson? Shelly is someone who has been
writing literally her entire life (and that’s a LONG time) and has always
written M/M. Her first story was back in high school and she hasn’t stopped
since. Of course, Shelly never dreamed of getting published, so needless to
say, she’s in heaven! Shelly loves her characters. Her writing focus is real
people, flaws and all, who are hurting or damaged, but deserve a little joy in
their lives. Shelly was born and raised in Arizona, but currently lives in
California because that is where the money is! She is currently single, but has
a grown daughter and an adorable grandson both of whom she loves dearly. While
she usually stays pretty much to herself, she does have a Bachelor’s in Social
Services and a diverse background that ranges from theater to health care and
currently works in accounting, she swears it’s not as boring as it sounds.
While this is her first publication, it is by far not the last! She plans on
being around for quite some time! You’ve been warned!
