Sample Sunday interview with Lucy Pireel

Welcome Lucy thank you for visiting the blog today
Tell us a little about yourself

I’ve always been a story teller, but nowadays I like to see myself as a writer.
A little background for the ones among you who like to know things about the writer they read.
I’m an avid reader and writer. Love trying my hand at baking and cooking. If I need to unwind you can find me outside walking, or inside twisted into a pretzel while doing yoga, or I might be trying to bake a multi-layer cake. You’ve got to love those cakes!
My favourite genres are most definitely all of them. I hate it when people try to stick me in a box, so I do my best not to fit in any and yet I feel at home in all.
What do I write? Romance, Fairy Tales with a twist, horror, sci-fy, and fantasy. You see? I told you so, not just one genre for me, I like to write it all, except YA. For some reason I haven’t gotten much love for that, or dystopian.
That’s me in a nutshell, if you follow me on the book of faces (aka FB) or my blog, you’ll come to know me better over the course of time, no doubt.

What book/s have you brought along to tell us about today?

My first one Red Gone Bad, a collection of twisted fairy tales.
A small collection of twisted fairy tales in  which the heroines are not what you might expect from them.

 Once upon a time ...

Little Red Riding Hood took matters in her own hands

And the miller's daughter struck a flawed deal with Rumpelstiltsken

In these--and two more--twisted fairy tales there are no happy endings and you'll find out those heroines are not what you might expect from them.

Then there's Heaven's Closed, two shorts available for free.
A woman on a deserted road. She has an order to stay but encounters a man. Is he just a man, or the Devil? Will she be saved, can she save herself, or is it all in her mind?

Two writing witches set out to get the man they want.
Will those fallen angels be stronger than the written magic? Or is the pen mightier than the sword after all?

And my latest publication, Bound and erotic BDSM novella.
A young, successful woman finds herself attracted to a man who is known for his promiscuity. She has no idea if he wishes to play with her the way she wants him to.

While working together, they become closer. When she dares to reveal her wishes, he only only asks her if she's ready to say 'please'. After she does, the games begin.

But where will they end?

Are you working on another book right now?

I am! More than one actually. A full length erotic, paranormal, urban fantasy novel, for which I'm currently trying to find a publisher. Or I might self-publish that one too.
And another collection of shorts, this time on the horror-side. Two are in the final stage of polishing by me before they're off to the editor.
And, yes there's more, two novellas. One about a man who walks the dreams of females searching for his queen and one about a king who's lost his throne and tries to regain it by using blood magic.

What do you enjoy most about writing?

To be able to let your imagination run free and have no limits on what you want to happen, apart from what I limit myself too.

What do you like the least?

The fact that there are people who insist on the fact that things aren't possible. It's my imagination, anything goes, right? O, yes and that thing in romance writing they call rules. No cheating, shifting rules and whatnot. What if the cheating is necessary to the story? But it's not allowed, so there's no way to have that part in the book. Not if I want it traditionally published.

Would you like to see any of your books as movies?

That would be great! But if it will ever happen? But if it does, my choice would be ... (I need to think on it for a while, be right back, jut popping out for a coffee.) All of my shorts, as a television series.

If so can you name any actors you would like to see as the lead characters in your book.

No! *scurries away* That question keeps coming back to pester me. I really have no idea. I love Helena Bonham-Carter though. She could play any of the creepy females. The others? If anyone has suggestions after reading my books, let me know, please?

What things do you like to do to relax?

Yoga, walking. I am trying to bake things and brows the internet for recipes.

Do you have another job as well as writing?

Not at the moment. I'd love to pick up teaching yoga again.

If you could have one super power in your existence, what would it be?

Instantly change location, travel without the need to actually travel, what bliss.

If money were not an object, where would you most like to live?

Where I live at the moment is quite nice. No need to change, not even if money were not an object.

What kind of car would you have if money was no object?

Oh, wow. I'm really indifferent as to what car I drive. The only thing I need from it is that it takes me from A to B. Make, color or engine type are of no importance. No, not even if money weren't an object.

What’s your favorite food?

Chocolate.

Favorite color?
Eh, ... Blue? Oh, no make that purple. Wait! All kinds of natural colors. Shoot! You know, I don't really have a favorite color.

Can you think of a song or piece of music that could be your theme tune?
Kashmir by Led Zeppelin.

Just answer these questions as quickly as possible.

Chocolate or vanilla?-----
Chocolate

Dog or cat?----
Dog.

The film or the book?-----
Book

Jeans or dress?
Dress

Beach or Snow resort?
Snow

Heels or flats?
Heels

What do you love best about yourself?
Me.

What do you like least?
Nothing.

Is there anything you would like to say to your readers?
Enjoy the read and forget about the world around you while reading.

Can you share one of your favorite parts of one of the books?

From Bound
Later that night when they were sat around the dinner table, the men dawdled until Raphael said, “Gentlemen, I believe it is time for you to go. I suggest you go home if you can remember where you live. The slumber party is over.” He threw a glance at Amelia, who pursed her lips while his eyes devoured her and he added, “You, however ...” he grinned as wicked as sin, “will be staying.”
“I guess I will,” Amelia answered, trying hard not to purr.
The men rose and piled left-over cake onto two plates. Michael smirked.
“Mind if we hang out upstairs instead and watch a movie?” Avner asked.
“Or in the studio?” Michael corrected. “I’ve got this idea and I won’t be able to work on it at home.”
Without waiting for Raphael to answer, they left the dining room with a stash of the assorted miniature cakes Amelia had ordered for dessert. Behind the kitchen door, the opening and closing of the fridge, clanking bottles, and then a dropped one sounded. “Holy mother of mine!” swore Avner. Shards slid across the tile floor after being kicked and then silence finally came after the other door slammed shut.
All the while, Raphael sat staring at Amelia. Then he reached into his chest pocket and placed a nipple clamp on the table. Without saying a word, he played with it while looking at her, waiting patiently.
She reached over the table, showing more of her cleavage while taking the bottle of water furthest away from her. “Can I get you anything, Raphael?” she asked.
“I think so, yes.” He slid his chair back, away from the table. Sat there, he scrutinized Amelia. He kept silent and rolled the clamp between his fingers the way a magician works coins.
Amelia walked out of the room, went to the studio and took the ropes she’d got from his flight case earlier. Then she returned, sauntered towards him and dropped to her knees before his chair. Looking up, she offered him the package and whispered, “Have I pleased you, sir?”
He examined the ropes--crimson and natural colored hemp, prime quality and well cared for--and made an approving sound as he regarded the whipped endings before he put them on the floor. Then he placed his hand on her nape, wove his fingers through her hair and held it tight against her head. Heat burned in his eyes as he slowly tilted her head. He brought his face close to hers and breathed against her lips, “Maybe.” Then he let go of her hair and pushed her down on her heels. “We need to talk before we take this any further. But you know that as well as I do, don’t you?” He sat back again and said, “You may stand.”

Lucy has brought along her new release for us today,

Bound Lucy's latest addition to what she hopes will be a long list of book

Lucy talks about Bound,

It was a story that had been playing through my mind for a long time, but I never thought I was the right person to write erotica. As it turned out I am, because I enjoyed writing it very much and reading it back I have no regrets whatsoever.
It’s erotica with a kink. As you can see on the cover it’s about bondage, but it’s also a romance. And there’s a happy ending.
A one sentence synopsis might be,
Young, successful woman who’s into BDSM crosses path with a man she’d like to play with, but where will there games end?
This book is self-published. I’m working with a very good editor who makes sure there’s no SPaG left and all is how it should be. Neat and tight.
I think it took me no more than a month from first word to last period, or full stop, to write
Life inspired it. Life and the way of the world as it is now. You know people openly talking about their kinks and whatnot.

Lucy's other works are,

Red Gone Bad

A small collection of twisted fairy tales in which the heroines are not what you might expect from them and no happy endings are to be expected.

 Heaven's Closed
The first one is about a woman on a deserted road. Does she have an encounter with the devil or is it all in her mind?
The second one is a tale of angels and writing witches. Whose powers are the strongest and who will get what they want?
