Claire Blackwell can’t find that damn white light. Thanks to a mishap at an intersection, she’s dead and stuck somewhere between Heaven and what seems like Hell as she is forced to watch her husband and children unravel without her. While she struggles to find answers for her limbo state, her family begins to see her, offering what she believes, is a gift of second chances.

As she navigates through this new, untouchable world and the challenges it creates, she is forced to face some sad and potentially dangerous truths. Determined, she works to mend her relationship with her family, but her stubborn teenage son refuses to acknowledge her, and when tensions escalate with his long-time bully, her inability to control the physical world around her leaves her fearing for her family’s safety. With her time running out, she must find a way to save them before the progress she has made is lost and she fades from this world forever.

Read an Excerpt:
Back in the kitchen, Brad stood at the counter, amused by something on his phone while he sipped his coffee.
“Did you see this on Facebook?” He turned his phone screen in my direction.
“I haven’t been on Facebook in ages. Too busy for that time-suck.”
But truthfully, it wasn’t the time that kept me away as much as it was the lives of my “friends”, which always sounded monumentally better than my own, that stopped me from scrolling through the pages. The job promotions; the endless pictures of exotic vacations; the perfect children doing perfect things; the perfect, perfect lives everyone seemed to live. Everything and everyone were perfect on Facebook, and although deep down I knew no one lived the utopian life they portrayed on social media, the braggery still ate at me and left holes of inadequacy and unhappiness.
“Bridget Radcliff just published a novel. Isn’t she a friend of yours?”
“What?” I glanced at Brad’s phone. Bridget’s post made its way to his page from a friend of a friend of a friend in the small, claustrophobic world of fake-believe.
“Looks like it made it onto Amazon’s bestseller list.”
“Wow, fantabulous,” I said without an ounce of energy in my voice. “Another smut novel makes it onto the bestseller list. And if you must know, she’s an acquaintance, not a friend.”
I didn’t know if it was really a smut novel, but I assumed it was only because I couldn’t imagine Bridget writing anything else. But this, I admit, was one of my flaws. I assumed a lot about everything. I assumed I’d marry a prince and become a princess. I assumed I knew everything there was to know at fifteen. I assumed I’d want sex every day for the rest of my life and my marriage to Brad would be like living inside a rainbow every day. I assumed I wouldn’t miss my career when I stayed home to raise the kids. I assumed my children would be the best at everything because I assumed I would be the best mother there ever was. But now, even with all I knew about assumptions, about how they are idealistic dreams I refused to prove wrong, I still gave them weight in my life. Why would assuming Bridget wrote something scandalous be any different?
A little jealousy bounced within me. Even with Bridget being a divorced mother of two, she somehow found the time to write a best-selling novel. And that picture of her on Brad’s phone, all trim and sunshiny-beautiful holding her book, lit a fuse in me, or maybe it was already lit but had met the nitroglycerine.
In any case, I was ready to explode. I moved to the sink and gazed out the window, counting slowly to ten, fully aware of the emptiness growing within me. Each person’s success reminded me of my own career as a teacher I’d willingly given up for this.

Tark means to take Suki home to his world, a place where she can heal and start a new life. #newrelease #SciFi #romance from guest author @kitcatjms and @changelingpress

Saved by the Cyborg (Cy-Con #3)
Jessica Coulter Smith
Publisher: Changeling Press
Cover Artist: Karen Fox
Released May 2019

ABOUT THE BOOK
He’s a monster -- a cybernetic freak feared by females. Until he finds her…

Intimidating. Damaged. Unlovable.
Tark wanted a mate even before he joined the Cy-Con program. His sheer size made females fear him, and now that he’s been turned into a cybernetic freak they avoid him even more. When he finds a female being held in a brothel against her will, he knows that he can’t leave without her.

Tark means to take Suki home to his world, a place where she can heal and start a new life. He never realized she’d want to start that life with him, or that she’d insist on leaving the safety of Xpashta in an effort to rescue others like herself.

Brave. Fearless. Pregnant?
Tark saved the alluring human female once. When she’s captured during a dangerous mission, he knows he’ll have to do it again, and this time, he’s not letting her out of his sight -- especially when he finds out she’s pregnant with his child.

SNEAK PEEK
“Why is it hard for you to believe I would want to be with you?” she asked.

“Females don’t want me,” he said after a few minutes. “They never have. Even whores have run from me in fear. I’ve never…”

He looked away, but Suki could tell he was embarrassed. Was he trying to say he was a virgin? She couldn’t believe it. How could anyone turn him away? Tark was kind and protective. And he’d been gentle with her. Despite his mechanical arm, he hadn’t harmed her, not once. He was always careful when he reached for her, or carried her. She didn’t understand why women didn’t beg for his attention. On Earth, she’d been independent for the most part, hadn’t felt she needed a man for anything. She’d had boyfriends, but none that lasted longer than a month. But being a slave had taught her that out here in space, far from the world she’d called home, she did need a male, as long as it was the right one. She’d been too weak to fight them off, too weak to save herself and her sister. The thought of someone big and strong offering protection was tempting.
Suki stood and placed her hand on his bicep. He was so strong, so… He made her feel safe, and that was something she hadn’t felt in a very long time. If she could do anything, she wanted to make him realize that not all females feared him. She didn’t. If he claimed her as his mate, she would feel like the luckiest of women. She just didn’t know how to make Tark see that.

“I’m not running,” she said. “And I’m not afraid of you.”

He looked at her, his gaze holding hers.

If he’d never been with a female, had he ever been kissed? Suki leaned forward and lightly brushed her lips against his.

Tark froze, every muscle in his body tense.

Suki moved her mouth against his, giving him the softest of kisses, until he began to relax. She pulled back and stared into his eyes.

Tark looked stunned as he reached up and touched his lips.

“Do you want to do it again?” she asked. “You could kiss me this time, if you want.”

“Kiss you,” he repeated, staring at her lips.

“Yes.”

Tark’s gaze flicked up to hers then lowered to her mouth again. Slowly, he leaned in and pressed his mouth to hers.

Suki placed her hand on the back of his neck, her fingers tangling in his hair. Suki parted her lips and touched her tongue to his lips.

Tark groaned and opened, letting her in.

She kissed him slowly, deeply. And all too soon, he was pulling away. Suki clung to him, not ready for it to end just yet. It had been so long since she’d felt anything like that, and maybe she never had. Kissing Tark felt different, but in a very good way.

Separated at the age of sixteen by selfish battling parents going through a bitter divorce, twin sisters Iris and Siri Beaulieu vow to never be apart on Christmas Eve, which is also their birthday.

Now grown and married and perhaps a bit bored with their husbands, the twins decide to give each other the ultimate birthday present by switching identities.

“Now, let’s quit speculating about what could have been and get on with the good stuff. What did you bring?” Siri peeked at Iris’ luggage.

Iris handed her a nightgown. “Seriously? What are you, ninety?” Siri choked the flannel and shook it.

“Well, I thought it was gonna be cold up here. Okay! There are matching slippers.”

Siri scowled. “Jesus Christ, I thought after last year you’d come prepared, and I specifically told you in my last text to bring something naughty! Didn’t you bring anything sexy?”

“Not really. Other than matching bras and panties. I must have missed that one. You sent me like fifty! Besides, after the one where you told me to make sure my bikini area was tidy, I’d kinda had enough.”

“Oh for fuck’s sake, Iris. Don’t you do anything special for Kyle at Christmas? I’m not putting that on. In fact, I’m taking it home and ripping it up for rags! Have I neglected you so much that you don’t know how to be sexy anymore?”

“Well, what else have you got in your bag? I’m sure you must have something that is a little more me and lot less...” She waved her hands around Siri’s ample cleavage. “... you!”

Victoria’s Secret doesn’t have a granny line, Eye!”

“Why not? Grandmas are sexy, too.”

Out of patience, Siri stamped her foot.

“Okay, okay. How about this?” From her own pack, Iris held up a solid green camisole and a pair of sleep shorts with snowmen all over them.

“Oh dear Lord, I’m twelve again.” Siri rubbed her temple.

“It’s what I wear to bed. Kyle thinks they’re cute,” Iris pouted.

“Well, when I’m done with him, cute is going to be the last word he’s thinking. In fact, he’s not going to be thinking at all, because all the blood up here...” She tapped her head. “... is gonna drain down here!” She gestured down around her pelvis. “And when we swap back, before bed, and he fucks you good, you can thank me in the morning... grandma!” she added.

Laird Connors is an Alpha’s Alpha and he’s very used to getting his way. So, true to his nature, when he meets his mate he wastes no time in showing her exactly who she belongs to—or so he thought. His little cat tries to run, but nothing will stop him from claiming what’s his.

“Fuck, you’re so wet,” he growled before rubbing the pad of one finger in circles around her aching clit.
Her hand was still stroking up and down his cock, and when his fingers dipped lower, finding her entrance, Bella groaned, biting down on his shoulder. Fuck, she needed his cock inside of her.
“Pants off,” she panted and released him.
In seconds, he had her jeans and panties stripped and his own thrown across the room as he knelt in front of her. The intensity in his eyes was enthralling as he growled again and then lunged at her. She wasn’t frightened, though. On the contrary, she knew she was about to get fucked and fucked good.
His arms scooped her up, and then they were both bouncing on the large king sized bed. Immediately he moved down her body, his hands pushing her legs wide open and up as he settled himself in between them. She didn’t even have a second to anticipate what he was about to do before his mouth descended upon her pussy, licking and nibbling over every single inch. Two thick fingers plunged into her core, thrusting in and out as he sucked her throbbing clit in between his lips. It was a full-on assault of sensations, and before she even knew it, her entire body was coiled in preparation to come, her hands tightening their grip in his hair as she pressed her hips harder into his mouth, and when he bit down on her clit she screamed as the orgasm echoed through her core. The waves of pleasure ebbed over and over again until his mouth finally released her.
“Holy fuck,” she whispered as her eyes closed and she struggled to catch her breath.
“Nah, we’re just getting to that part,” was his cheeky answer as she felt him kiss his way back up her torso until his weight settled in between her thighs.
Bella could feel the throbbing heat of his cock pressed against her pussy. She was so wet now that it easily slid through the swollen lower lips, causing small tremors to pulse through her womb in aftershocks. His arms were on each side of her waist, holding him above her, and she rested her hands at the top of his ass.
“Look at me, little cat.” His voice was still rough with his desire. “I want to see your golden eyes as I take you.”
She slowly opened her eyes, and her lips broke into a lazy smile, her hand coming up to rest against his cheek. She loved the thick stubble she felt there—it had felt even more amazing against the inside of her thighs. His deep green eyes seared her with their gaze, and it felt like he was looking right into her soul as he pulled his hips back and found her entrance. She sighed as he slid his thickness into her slowly as if he was savoring the feel of her around him. It seemed an oddly sentimental moment for such a sexually aggressive male, and not normally one she would appreciate from a bed partner—but something was different with this one.
Once he had pushed himself all the way inside of her, a low rumble had once again begun to come from deep inside his chest as he lifted her legs to slide his arms underneath them. Her breath caught as he pulled her closer, his balls nudging up against her ass, and then he began to move. He pulled all the way out of her snug heat, and then slammed back in, his gaze never leaving hers. Bella’s hands held onto his forearms, grasping at the only part of him she could reach as he began to thrust in and out of her, over and over again. She could feel her fangs dropping as her cougar snarled inside, encouraging the male to move faster, to fuck them harder. His own teeth were now visible as well, and sweat rolled down his face and chest as he worked her. His wide, thick cock didn’t miss a single nerve inside of her, and her body lit up with pleasure. Every stroke seemed to take her higher and the harder he took her, the more she needed.
“Harder, more…” she groaned out, her claws unsheathing from her fingertips to grab into the flesh of his arms.
Suddenly he growled and released her, slipping out of her sheath abruptly, but before she could complain, he had flipped her over onto her hands and knees. He pushed her legs apart and slid back inside, his hands now over her shoulders, using the leverage to pull her back onto his cock at a furious pace. Well, she’d asked for harder, and boy, did she get it.
The intensity of his fucking made her inner animal go crazy, wanting to claw at him, to mark this partner in her fury of lust. Over and over again, his shaft thrust inside of her, and she would have done anything to feel the release of his seed into her waiting center. When one of his talented hands finally moved back down, around her hip and pinched her swollen clit, her pussy spasmed around him, trying with everything it had to take him with her.
With a furious roar, he followed her into bliss, the hot jets of his seed coating her insides. At the same time, she felt his teeth bite deep into her shoulder, and her cat roared as well inside her head, telling her to sink her own teeth into this male—to bite him and mark him as theirs for the entire world to see.
Wait … what the hell did my inner cat just say? Mark him?
Fuck!
“Mine…” he moaned, his cock pushing deep inside of her once more. “You’re mine now, little cat. My mate.”
Double fuck!

Visiting the blog today @YesItsNicolaC with new release #PNR #shifter #romance

Hello, and thanks so much for having me on today! Shifter Woods: Howl is the first entry in my new paranormal shifter romance series Esposito County Shifters. Howl, which is the story of coyote shifter Laurie Rivera and her (very) unexpected mate Sheriff Caleb Lynch, was originally supposed to be submitted to an anthology. Real Life™ promptly intervened, as it does, and I blew the deadline. I decided to go ahead and expand the story past the antho guidelines and Howl surprised me by turning into a 23,000 word novella. Go figure. The second entry, Shifter Woods: Roar, which runs concurrently with Howl and follows the story of Laurie’s cameraman Gavin and bear shifter Mike Ivanov, will be out in mid-May.

Also, may I just say that I am SO glad I was finally able to use this particular male model on a cover? I’ve been faunching after him since Empress of Storms, and I finally got the right book for him – yay!

Laurie wants a news story. Caleb just wants to be left alone. But when the coyote shifters’ paths cross in New Mexico’s Sandia Mountains, Fate steps in and gives them something they never expected—each other.
Reporter Laurie Rivera is on the trail of a white slavery ring when she’s forced to run for her life in the foothills near Sandia Crest. Widowed sheriff and Alpha coyote shifter Caleb Lynch comes across the exhausted reporter and discovers to his shock that Laurie’s also a coyote shifter—and his new heart’s mate.
But Caleb never expected to have another chance at love, and Laurie has a good reason to fear being claimed, especially by an Alpha. As a snowstorm traps them in the sheriff’s cabin, Caleb must find a way around the barriers surrounding Laurie’s heart, and Laurie has to confront her past—and the humans who want her dead—if she wants a chance at her very own “happily ever after.”

Excerpt

Caleb Lynch slammed the cabin door closed with his foot, depositing the woman in his arms on the couch. Her eyes were still closed, her full lips turning a faint shade of blue, and her heartbeat was worryingly slow. That and the fact that she wasn’t shivering meant she was well into hypothermia.

At least he knew how to handle that. He stepped to the hallway closet and grabbed a bundle of blankets and the heavy old quilt his grandmother had made. Dumping them next to the sofa, he started stripping the cold, wet clothes off his guest.

Peeling off the waterlogged cloth revealed sleek limbs, smooth tan skin and some mouthwatering curves that made his palms tingle with the urge to touch. Worse, each new inch of exposed skin let more of her heavenly scent come to his nose. He’d thought he’d made a mistake out near the creek, that it had been some sort of olfactory hallucination, but this close it was impossible to miss. He struggled not to throw his head back and howl.

No. You have a responsibility, dammit. Get her warm and dry first.

When she was down to her underwear he opened one of the blankets and covered her with it, then reached under to strip off the damp scraps of nylon and cotton. She moaned in complaint and he bit his lip, trying to come into contact with as little skin as possible. What he did touch, however, was silken.

He pulled the bra and panties free, tossing them on top of the rest of her clothing, then set to piling more blankets on her, topped with the heavy quilt. She’d get warmer faster if you slid in there with her, part of his brain suggested. Just strip down, crawl in, take her in your arms and—

He cut that thought off. He had never laid a finger on an unwilling female in his life, and he damn well wasn’t about to start now. Even if she did look like sun and sin in one gorgeous package and smelled like—

Mine. She smells like mine.

Damn it all. It was getting harder to tear his mind away from that thought. Gritting his teeth, he sat back on his haunches and considered. Wet clothes removed and dry blankets applied, check. Next was warmth.

Along with the blankets he’d grabbed a bunch of chemical hand warmer packets. He cracked a few, shook them up to get the exothermic reaction going, then tucked them under the blanket by her feet. She shifted, toes automatically stretching towards the heat.

Her eyes fluttered open, revealing irises the color of a rich sherry. “Wha’ happened?”

“You tell me, honey.” Caleb swallowed a smile, wanting to stroke the tangled black silk away from her face. “I found you in Bollan Creek. I’m guessing you fell in?”

“Creek?” One slender hand emerged from the blankets, pushing her hair back. “Yeah. Fell down a hill—” She blinked, her gaze sharpening as she took in the blankets covering her. Her other hand groped under the blankets, confirming her sartorial status. “Where are my clothes?”

He expected confusion, even anger, but the strength of the fear pouring off her made him feel both guilty and a little annoyed. “They’re right here,” he said, nodded at the pile of wet cloth. “I’m sorry, but you were going into hypothermia. They had to come off.”

She clutched the blanket closer as she peered over the edge of the sofa at her clothes. A flush spread across her cheekbones, and the fear scent kicked up a notch. “Who took them off?”

He sighed. “I did. And to answer your next question, I covered you with a blanket first,” he tapped a drape of the quilt, “and I didn’t take any liberties.”

Not that he hadn’t wanted to. “Now, I’d appreciate some answers to my questions,” he said, allowing a hint of sternness to show through. “What are you doing in Big Rock territory without my permission?”

She stared at him, biting her lower lip. “I didn’t mean to, Alpha, I swear. I’m here on business.”

“What kind of business?”

“I’m a reporter with the Albuquerque Sun—”

The growing lust generated by her scent evaporated. “You’re a reporter?”

Just what he needed, one of those snoopy bastards poking around Esposito County. Except she’s a shifter, too. What the hell is she doing in a city, anyway?

She brought me to my knees #contemporaryromance from guest author @MisKay85

ANGEL MINE
Mine series, book 1
by Kay Maree

Genre: contemporary romance (does contain triggers)

BROOKLYN -

I'm scared but I have to be strong not just for me but for my beautiful daughter, after years of being emotionally and physically abused it needed to end.

I always wanted a love like the fairy tales I was told as a child, a love like my parents had but after escaping hell I lost all hope.

Trusting another man and falling in love was now the last thing on my mind, making it through everyday was now the new goal for my daughter and me.

Then everything changed the day I looked into the most captivating green eyes I have ever seen, it was like they saw into my very soul.

And I knew nothing would ever be the same again.

DOMININC -

I was brought up in a dangerous world, a world I had to quickly become accustomed to.

It took my brothers death and the events that unfolded after that lead me to be the man I am today a Mob Boss.

One of the most powerful man in Newcastle, I'm not a good guy, I have done bad things.

I closed my true self off the day I failed to protect the one person I loved dearly, and she paid the ultimate price.

But one look into those ocean blue eyes and I felt my whole purpose in life shift, I didn't deserve her but I was going to make her Mine.

I had finally found the missing pieces to my heart I didn't know I was missing and I wasn't letting them go...

Angel: "I WANTED TO BE THE LAST THING HE TASTED AT NIGHT, AND THE FIRST THING HE TOUCHED IN THE MORNING"

Dom: "SHE BROUGHT ME TO MY KNEES, AND I NEVER WANTED TO GET BACK UP"

My Angel turns toward Antonio and graces him with the biggest smile I have seen, it’s one of those smiles which would brighten up the darkest day. My stomach knots with a sting of possessiveness. Jealousy. I should be the one receiving that smile. I give her hand a little squeeze trying to draw her attention back to me. I know it’s irrational, but I don’t care. I’m a selfish bastard and that smile is mine.

Shit, I’m fucked and by the look Antonio is giving me he knows it too.

“And your name?” she says jolting me out of my thoughts

“Oh, I’m sorry. Dominic and it’s a pleasure meeting you, Angel” I turn her hand over in mine lift it to my lips and plant a gentle kiss. Her hand is so soft I don’t want to release her. As each second passes, it gets harder to regain my control.

“Dominic,” she repeats in her breathless voice again. Then something changes, her body tenses up and the expression on her face becomes blank. She snatches her hand from mine and backs up a step as she mumbles, “I’m sorry, I better get back to work.” With those words, she turns and hurries away.

What the fuck just happened? I know she felt what I felt, so why is she pulling back? I watch her walk away noticing the sexy sway of her hips. Fuck she’s gorgeous! I know I’m not finished with this little one just yet, actually, I’m only just getting started. I remove one of my business cards from my pocket, drink the now lukewarm coffee in one gulp then slowly make my way over to my skittish Angel at the counter. Her back is to me so I murmur her name. I watch as she tenses up before her shoulders loosen. She turns around with a smile on her face. This is not like the one she had before, this one is forced. I’m not exactly sure what happened in the last five minutes to cause me to lose her, but I’m going to find out. “I just wanted to give you this. My contact details are on there and the name of my club.” I slide the card across the counter

and her eyes widen. “Maybe we can grab a drink tonight, your friend can come to. I know Antonio would love to get to know her a little better. How about we say nine? I’ll put your names on the list at the door under Brooklyn Angel and Katherine Tiger.”

My lips twitch as she struggles to hold back a giggle at the pet names. I chuckle low in my throat when she doesn’t succeed “Oh and make sure you wear that perfume you have on.” I wink before turning and head to Antonio who is waiting by the door watching Red, but not before I catch her blush again. Hmmm… again I wonder how far down that blush goes.

I live in Newcastle, on the New South Wales coast of Australia with my husband and three beautiful children.

Between being a taxi for my children, and working full-time, I somehow find the time to write. It’s something I love with a passion and with the encouragement of my very supportive husband, I have accomplished one of my dreams – releasing my first novel.

I hope you fall in love with my characters as much as I have.

I love reading and getting lost in a good book when I manage to snatch five minutes to myself.
