Cade's always been one of my favorite heroes #MWTease #romance @evernightpub

I'm revisiting 'Rescuing Cade' this week in #MWTease

Cade has always been one of my favorite heroes. He's not afraid to be vulnerable and he's emotionally brave. He’s such a sweetheart, but he’s also powerful, sexy, caring, and very attractive. It’s a compelling combination. He’s allowed himself to believe something and then when he meets Marissa he’s shocked into changing this belief and he acknowledges that’s because of Marissa. He’s not afraid to give her that credit. I like that about him.

Cade’s trying to get over a broken heart when his friend Jack takes him off to a nightclub, named only, The Club. Although at first Cade is shocked by the place he meets Marissa. It’s not long before he and Marissa get together, but under the pressure of expectations from, The Club, and Marissa’s fear of commitment, they’re both running in opposite directions.
Gorgeous Cade has touched Marissa’s heart in ways she doesn’t want to admit.
Lovely Marissa has lifted Cade’s sadness and opened his heart to love again.

The trouble is — someone has to give a little. Who’s it going to be?

Read the tease
With a warm towel wrapped around his waist, he explored the bathroom cabinet and found a six-pack of toothbrushes with four in there and an unopened tube of toothpaste. Cade chose a toothbrush and cleaned his teeth, then he stood back to run his hands through his wet hair. That’s better. Cade gazed at his reflection. I’m happy. I actually feel happy.

He wandered along to Marissa’s bedroom in his yesterday’s boxers to put on his suit pants, and then venture downstairs to make coffee. He’d zipped up his pants and was about to tiptoe away, when Marissa woke up and stretched.

“Hi.” Her eyes filled with pleasure as she saw him standing there.

“Hi, Marissa, I thought I’d make us some coffee. I took a shower in the bathroom down the hall. I hope you don’t mind.”

She got out of bed approaching him rapidly to give him a hug. “Of course not, and I’d love coffee. It’s so nice to have you here.” She kissed his cheek. “I’ll take a quick shower, and then be down. Make yourself at home.” She left him and took the middle door in the wall of white painted ones.

Cade grinned and noted the door that obviously led to a bathroom. He picked up his rumpled shirt and looked it over, wishing he had a clean T-shirt to wear. Then he threw the shirt onto the bottom of the bed and went off to make coffee in just his suit pants.

The kitchen seemed huge in the daylight streaming through the big picture windows at one end. Cade opened cupboards until he found cups and instant coffee. He filled the electric kettle with water and set it to boil. There was a coffee percolator on one end of the counter, but he hadn’t seen any ground coffee in any of the cupboards he’d opened, so he spooned a heap of the instant into each cup, and walked to the window to look out.

The window was a patio door and Cade soon had it open. He stepped out onto the paving in his bare feet, and surveyed the garden beyond, long and laid to lawn with trees lining a bottom fence. The morning sun warmed his shoulders and he sighed. Last night he’d said he didn’t want the night to end, now he wasn’t in a hurry to leave at all. Not that his place wasn’t great, he loved his house, having designed it, but it didn’t contain Marissa.

He went to pour boiling water into the cups.

Marissa appeared in jeans and a white T-shirt with her hair damp and swinging down her back. “I should have told you where everything was, sorry, now you have to drink instant.” She smiled at him.

Cade was busy savoring the sight of her breasts, obviously bra-less beneath the T-shirt. He went to her. “It’s okay.” He hesitated and then held out his arms to her, wanting to have her body against him.

She stepped into his hug and kissed under his ear.

Cade closed his eyes in pleasure. He rubbed his cheek on the top of her damp hair. “You smell good, like oranges.” His voice came out husky with a long unfelt emotion.

From a Readers favorite
Five stars! Elodie Parkes has written a captivating story about a vulnerable man. This is a pleasant change from today’s literature. Where every story is usually about a heartbroken woman, Parkes has given us a man who is broken down and vulnerable. Also, even though you may find this novel in the BDSM category, there isn’t much BDSM in the novel itself. It is purely a love story and the BDSM club and setting are classy and very elegant. Plus, the two leads are endearing and very relatable. I really enjoyed this novel and am looking forward to reading more from Elodie Parkes.
HOP to the next #MWTease
