Keeping it simple doesn’t always work out so well…

After exacting his longed-for revenge, Massimiliano “Max” Damiani’s life is about to get more complicated when he is sent by the Valthrean Council to investigate the mysterious death of one of their Councilmen. Duty-bound to protect the victim's daughter and her young brother, the stakes are upped as Max and those around him become targets of a dangerous enemy. The Cult is closing in, threatening the future of their kind.

Fate is a cruel mistress…
Piper Ingram’s existence is thrust into turbulent waters. Her father has been murdered in cold blood and she is now sole guardian to her little brother, Charlie. After years of helping others come to terms with their problems and move on to better lives in a domestic violence shelter, she now needs help protecting herself and her kin.

Salvation comes when we face our deepest fears…

Max values his independence above anything. Meanwhile, this case brings him more trouble than he's bargained for, pushing his limits, and testing his fear of commitment. Emotion welled inside her. “Thank you,” she croaked out. “No one’s ever done this for us. There was never any need.”
“Again, it’s my duty to protect you. I didn’t anticipate that threatening note, and I don’t like surprises.”
“Max, you really are a g—”
“Stop!” Seemingly pulling the wrath out of thin air, he turned on her like a beast ready to consume her. An unholy fire spat from his eyes. What she’d said must have triggered flames from Hell itself to pop and explode in his brain.
“Max—”
His face suddenly morphed to stone, giving her pause. For the first time, he scared her. Reaching her in one stride, he caught her again by the shoulders and shook her.
“Stop saying that!” he growled. “I’m not a good man. I’m a man who lives how he wants, takes what he wants. And I want to do this right now.”

Gathering her in a steel hold, he crushed his lips to hers.

Welcome to  MASSIMILIANO ‘MAX’ DAMIANI, hero of ‘A LIFETIME FOR REVENGE’, book 2 of The Valthreans

n  Where were you born?

I was born and raised in France, but I’m half French and half Italian

n  Can you tell us about your background?

I’d rather not talk about that right now…

n  What’s your biggest fear?

Fear? I’m Massimiliano ‘Max’ Damiani, baby. I have killed and maimed. I have no fear.

n  What about Piper Ingram?

What about her? She’s a big pain in my arse, is what she is. She and her brother, Charlie, have invaded my home, and I had to say goodbye to privacy.

n  Isn’t she a client? And wasn’t it your choice to take them to your home?

That’s what Neil says. That’s my boss, another pain in my arse. Where was I supposed to take them at that time of night? Their father was killed, nowhere was safe, I wanted to go home. Easy decision, or so I thought at first. I soon regretted it.

n  What’s the think you’re most proud of?

Killing that bitch, Madeleine de Brandeville. Nothing’s ever felt so good.

n  The thing you’re least proud of?

Letting my cock rule me when I should be thinking with this other head (taps forehead)

n  Rather blunt, aren’t you?

So they say. Sometimes, I’d just rather not talk and be alone, unless a pretty woman is involved.  Since Piper moved in, though, life has changed. I’m losing my edge. Hell, you’re pretty, and I’m not even ‘seeing’ you, know what I mean? No offense meant, but all I see these days are a mass of copper red curls and mesmerizing jade eyes. I’m just not the man I used to be. Pathetic.

n  Why does Piper affect you so much?

Who knows? All I know is, I can’t stop thinking about her. Although I try not to.

n  What are your plans now?

Get this case closed, take a little vacation, play the field a bit – stuff I’m good at, you know?

n  What about Piper and Charlie?

They’ll just move on, I suppose. Perhaps sell their big house and move someplace smaller. Whatever they do, it won’t be any of my business.

n  Just like that?

Yeah, just like that (shifts in his seat)

n  Do you have a girlfriend?

Does it have to be one? (laughs) Well, I don’t do ‘girlfriends’. Right now there’s a woman I like to get together with every now and then. She doesn’t expect much except a good fuck, know what I mean? No strings, no declarations of love, no emotions. She’s like a female version of me, and for the time being, she suits me fine. Although, since those two have invaded my house, I haven’t had time for a proper rendezvous. When they’re gone, life will get back to normal.

n  Sounds like you’re off your game a little.

Max Damiani is never off his game. What is this, the third degree?

n  I just like to get at the truth. So…you like to cook.

More than like. It’s like therapy for me.

n  Have you ever wanted to do it professionally? Cook, I mean.

Yes, many times, but there’s just no time to think about that… I just do my job with the Valthrean Council and in my free time, I want to have fun and forget.

n  Forget about what?

Everything.

n  Can you elaborate please?

No.

n  Does it have to do with your years in France, or after that?

Okay then. (stands up) I said I didn’t want to talk about it. This interview is over.

Walks out of room.

Oh, Max…you’re incorrigible.

He placed his hands on his hips. “I need to see. I need all the pieces of the puzzle.”

Kill me now, God. “I have a sore spot. It started hurting shortly after Marcus died. I’ve always meant to go to the doctor, but looking for Marcus’ killer became priority.”

“Okay. Well, where is it?”

Please God, kill me now. Not only did I not want to drop trou, but in front of a demon? More importantly, in front of Damon, and those magnificent eyes, gorgeous body, and desirable lips? How in Jesus’ name I became attracted to him blew my mind. For that matter, when? Completely out of left field. It hit me suddenly. We were driving, talking, at the mountain, and suddenly I felt it. A passion I’d forsaken years ago. Yet, here I was, my cheeks reddening. Fuck it. I sighed, stood up and began unbuckling my belt. I slid my pants down.

Damon backed up a few feet. “Umm, what are you doing?”

“The bite is on my thigh.” I lifted my boxers to just the bottom of my butt cheek. “My upper thigh.”

Damon gazed over me skeptically before kneeling down in front of me. I felt his warm fingertips touch my skin. To my surprise, I had to do everything in my power to stop from shivering. The way his touch felt, his fingers dancing over that sensitive spot… It normally hurt, but Damon was so gentle with me that it caused a different reaction. A different, dangerous reaction.

I glanced behind me. Damon looked up, his gorgeous silvery eyes gleaming with…lust? No, that couldn’t be it. But I thought it was. I drank in his gaze, the power behind those eyes. I had the urge to push him on the bed and allow our feet to entwine as we spent hours in bed together. Instead I pulled up my pants. Much smarter move.

“What do you think?” I asked.

He stared at me, a look of confusion crossing his face before he smiled and moved back to his seat. “Definitely recluse. I’d say my sister bit you.”

My skin burned from his touch. I wanted to, desired more than anything, to ask him to touch me again. I peered at him from below my lashes. He was doing the same. Fuck it. I rushed over to his chair and placed my lips upon his, claiming his mouth. The way he slipped his tongue past the barrier made my cock harden. I did the same, and our tongues danced with one another’s. He was warm, inviting, and didn’t hold back. My breath became harsh as I stilled, afraid of what I had just done.

I quickly pulled away and ran for the bathroom. Once inside I closed the door and pressed my body against it, hoping that if Damon came knocking, he couldn’t get in.

I knew I stunk. Plus I had a massive erection in my jeans. I turned on the water of the shower and got it to a nice temperature. After undressing, I stepped beneath the spray.

Today Tristan and Damon visit the blog
What was your first reaction when you saw each other?
Damon: I thought: “Fuck, he found me. I’m so dead. Hope they still have my bed made in Hell for when I return. In pieces.”
Tristan: I was happy to see him, but not in a good way for him. Since I had been under the impression that Damon killed my lover, I saw those silver eyes and thought pay day had finally come.
When did you first become physically attracted?
Damon: I was attracted at the get go. Right when we exchanged glances. Couldn’t say anything though. Trying to force back a massive hard on was difficult, even if I knew what he was there for. To send me straight back to Hell.
Tristan: I have no idea. It had been all business between us, and then it hit me how gorgeous he was. Those eyes, that soft expression…I was hooked as soon as I got my head out of my ass.
What physical quality to you like best?
Damon: I really like Tristan’s ass. Gorgeous in his stone-washed blue jeans.
Tristan: Have you seen Damon’s cock? I guess not, since he doesn’t whip it out every chance he gets, but it’s magnificent. The curve, the head, just mouth watering.
What physical quality do you like least?
Damon: His knees. They’re just bulky and kind of dry-looking.
Tristan: His split ends. Damon is in need of a haircut.
A secret?
Damon: Secrets. Uh, do I have a lot. But the biggest secret of all is that a demon’s time on earth isn’t infinite. We are from Hell, many of us are sent for reasons, and there are only two situations in which a demon is sent back to hell. Death or because the big man down under has called us back. I fear my time may be up soon and I don’t dare tell Tristan.
Tristan: Even though Damon and I have a blast, I’m afraid to let go of my ex, Marcus. I truly loved him and am afraid that I can never give my heart over to Damon. And I hate wearing socks because my feet get claustrophobic.

Welcome to Griffin Turner from the book, Somethin' Dirty

Welcome to the blog, Griffin,

Tell us about yourself and the book you star in.
I’m Griffin Turner, and I own a ranch in Wyoming. I’m raising my infant daughter alone, and now managing my mother’s illness and an epidemic in my cow herd. SOMETHIN’ DIRTY showcases my struggles, joys, and one very feisty country girl I can’t keep my hands off.
Most of us want to be different, so what is the one thing you wish the author had done differently with you?
I wish she’d let me use some Grecian Five to get the white streaks out of my beard. *wink*
If you could have added something to the story, and the author would have let you, what would that have been?
More anal. Definitely more anal sex.
What do you think of the author? Promise we won’t tell them….
Em Petrova is very good at taking direction from her characters. She doesn’t make us do what SHE wants.
You get the chance to have the author change your name what will it be?
I’m a big fan of being called “Big G”. I think Nola just might call me that with a straight face.
Give up three of your deepest, darkest secrets.
1.      I bought out my ex. I paid for her college education in exchange for her not aborting my daughter.
2.      I still want to cry over selling my motorcycle to my best friend.
3.      I dread that my daughter’s colic will return. *shudder*
What do you love best about yourself?
I am old enough to know what I want.
What do you like least?
I secretly wish I could sing with Nola and not sound like a hound dog.
How do you feel about the book you're in?
It. Rocks.
Can you share one of your favorite parts of the book without giving too much away and tell us why you chose it?
My mother told me to learn to enjoy even the tough times—to dance in the rain. One of the best nights of my life.
How do you see your future? Without giving anything away.
I see a healthy cow herd out there grazing and a little girl wearing cowboy boots strutting across the fields. I also hope to someday see a baby in the arms of the woman I love.
Let's say they make a movie about this book. Who do you want to play you, and why?
I’ve been waiting for this question! Joe Manganiello is actually the actor Em Petrova had in mind while writing my character.
Anything else you would like to tell us?
After you read Somethin’ Dirty, don’t forget to count your blessings. And crawl under the sheets with someone you love.

What the hell was he thinking? Nola was twenty-five if she was a day. Was her brain even fully formed?
But oh Christ, the sight of her stomping her curvy legs to the beat as she ripped through the notes of that song made him harden painfully. When she flashed him a grin, he focused on her luscious pout and his cock swelled another inch. How, he wasn’t sure.
The first two songs she’d sung had blown him away. Reedy’s superstar was an understatement. The girl could sing. What was she even doing in small-town Wyoming?
She strutted across the stage on those little red cowgirl boots, the frayed hem of her mini-skirt riding high on her thighs.
He had to get out of here before he lost control. He’d sworn off younger women. Nola was probably a student just like Miranda.
He stared at the dark strawberry blonde waves spilling over her shoulders and reaching for her cleavage, and he knew he was in serious lust. Lust equaled trouble. What could he do anyway? Take her home and halfway through hammer-f**king her over the edge of the bed, Lyric wakes up and screams for a bottle?
He scuffed a hand over his features, trying to wipe away the pounding need that must be evident in his expression. For an hour, he’d shirked his duties as designated driver, allowing others to shuttle people home so he could remain with Nola.
Nola. Her name tasted old-fashioned and brand-new at once on his tongue. A pretty little thing with tanned legs and a killer voice. What she was doing in Reedy, wasting those talents was beyond him. But he wasn’t ready to see her go yet, if that was her plan.
She threw her head back and held a long, throaty note that raised the hair all over his body.
Applause erupted, and he stuck two fingers in his mouth and gave a shrill whistle. When she scanned the crowd and sought him, his balls clenched up tight. That look held more promise than a man of his age and carrying his amount of baggage deserved.
Still, could he pass it up if she offered?
She jumped off the stage for the third time that night, and someone handed her a shot glass brimming full. Some of the amber liquid sloshed down her fingers, and all he could think of was guiding those digits to his mouth and sucking them clean.
Holding his gaze, Nola knocked back the whiskey.
He stepped forward and removed the glass from her hand. Setting it on the edge of the stage, he caught her fingers. She inched close, invading his senses with lush curves and the ripe scent of vanilla and arousal.
Perspiration dotted her throat, and he licked his lips, hungry for a taste.
“You’ve had too much to drink. I’m taking you home.”
“I was hopin’ you’d say that.” She waved at the redhead who had to be her sister, then pointed at him.
Griffin shot the sister his best nice-guy smile. No, I’m not a rapist or murderer. I’ll see your sister home safe. I just might steal a kiss or more if she’ll allow.

Heart wild in his chest, he wrapped an arm around Nola’s waist and guided her out of The Hellion. The brisk night air cut through the heat of his need, and he gulped the coldness into his lungs.
Maybe he shouldn’t try anything, just take her home and be honorable.
“My truck’s over here.” He waved at a well-used truck splattered with mud from the back tires and wished like hell he had something fancy for her.
She walked at his side, as steady as if she hadn’t drunk three beers and a whiskey throughout the night. For a little gal like her, that was a lot of alcohol, even spread out over a few hours. She could still sing like crazy even with alcohol in her veins.
By the time he guided her into the truck, he’d made up his mind that he wasn’t even going to try to kiss her. But when he got in and she scooted all the way over in her seat, leaning over the console, and threaded a hand into the hair at his nape, all self-control went up in a puff of smoldering hope.
“Where does a guy like you come from? I’ve never seen you in Reedy before.”
“I’ve lived here all my life.” His lips were inches from hers, and her breath washed over him. He studied her hooded eyes and the tips of her lashes, dark with mascara. Stripped of makeup, her lashes would be red-gold.
And the hair between her legs too.
“Hell,” he groaned and dropped his mouth to hers.
The first taste punched him in the gut. He snapped his arms around her, hauling her over the console and onto his lap. She clung to him, soft and willing female, her silky thighs draped over his.
He sealed her mouth under his for several seconds then could stand no more. He probed the seam of her lips with his tongue.
She opened to him at once. Her quiet mewl transformed into his croak of need. He trapped her face in his hands and angled her head to sink his tongue deeper into the sweet recesses of her mouth.
Pleasure-pain built in his groin, his erection throbbing against her maddening heat.
He bent her back over his arm until she was pinned to the driver’s door, sucking her tongue, nibbling her plump lips.
She wiggled and tugged on his hair, drawing him closer. Her breasts conformed to his chest as if she’d been made for him.
He tore away. Gasping, he stared down at her. She squirmed like a kitten under the gaze of a hawk.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t…”
She twisted a hank of his hair. “I wanted you to.”

Today a special treat as Eileen Griffin and Nikka Michaels bring Matt and Chase from 'Chasing Matt' to the blog for an interview

Eileen:  How did you know that Matt was someone you were willing to take a chance on?

Chase *turns beet red* Usually when I meet people they say hello then immediately move onto someone more interesting because I tend to be on the shy and quiet side. With Matt it was different. Well, obviously he treated me as a patient, at the ER, but still, he actually talked to me as a person that was worth talking to and looked past the geeky glasses.

*slight interruption from Matt*  Chase, for the thousandth time. The glasses are so far beyond geeky, it’s not even funny. And you in them? Dude, they, and you in them, are hot.

Nikka:  What was it about Chase that made you stop after your shift was over and ask if he needed help in the ER’s lobby?

Matt: He just looked so alone and I didn’t think that anyone should feel alone in the world. Especially after such a stressful night like the one he’d just had. Plus, he was really hot in his borrowed scrubs.

Nikka:  What do you think of Matt’s truck?

Chase: *looks over at Matt and turns an even deeper shade of red* I happen to love Matt’s truck. I also happen to love what Matt can do in his truck.  *Matt smirks*

Eileen:  What are your honest impressions/feelings about Chase’s ex-boyfriend, Stephen?

Matt: Without question? He’s a total dick. And not in the good way. Luckily he leaves Chase alone now and has moved on.

Nikka:  Has Mr. Hodges asked for your help with any more DIY projects?

Chase: He has, but I bought him a new step ladder. I don’t want to end up in the ER again anytime soon.

*interruption from Matt* Um, I might have given Mr. Hodges my cell number. Just in case he needed any more projects done. As happy as I was to meet Chase in the ER, I don’t want him back there anytime soon either.

Eileen:  Caro seems a little wild. Can you tell the readers a little bit more about her?

Matt: Caro is...well. Caro. She’s very loud and opinionated and totally obnoxious. But she’s also a very loyal and caring friend. Even though she went a little overboard trying to get Chase and me together she meant well.

Nikka:  What are your plans for the future?

Chase: My plans are expanding my home based business, trying more things with Matt and hopefully getting out there a little more. Well, one step at a time.

Eileen:  What are your plans for the future?

Matt: Getting out more when I have time and am off work and hanging out more with Chase. He’s very much into his Rec Sports soccer league, so I’ve decided to give that a try. *coughs* I also like to be on hand in case any “accidents” happen while he’s playing.

*interruption from Chase* What kind of accidents? I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself.

*smirk from Matt* But I like being the one who takes care of you.

Eileen: What’s your favorite sexual position?

Chase:  *turns crimson red and avoids all eye contact with everyone in the room* Um… Is that really one of the interview questions?

Nikka: What’s your favorite sexual position?

Matt:  *smirks wider* Yes Chase. It’s really one of the interview questions. My favorite position is  any position that involves Chase, so do I really have to pick just one?

Nikka: What’s your favorite thing about Matt?

Chase:  *smiles over at Matt* I love his sense of humor. If I’ve had a long or bad day, he never fails to have me smiling or laughing within minutes of just being near him.

Eileen: What’s your favorite thing about Chase?

Matt:  *smiles over at Chase* I love his loyalty and passion for life and the people in his life. He loves with all of his heart. It’s hard to find that in someone these days. I just feel lucky that I was on duty the night he walked into the ER.

Chase Williams is a gorgeous but painfully shy web designer whose long term boyfriend dumped him for being such a “nice” guy. Instead of meeting his buddies at the local bar for a drink he helps his elderly neighbor with a DIY project. When a wobbly step ladder leads to a banged up wrist and a trip to the ER Chase is convinced it’s the worst night ever. Then he meets his handsome nurse.

Matt Owens is the boy next door who loves working in the busy ER. He’s more than ready to clock out from his double shift until he meets his patient in Bed 4. Matt’s bedside manner is charming enough to make Chase consider throwing caution to the wind and going after what he wants for a change. But will Matt’s attraction to Chase be enough to make him to break his rule about never dating patients?
