Gayle Cranfield was born in East London, England and found her forever after, Mark at the age of 14.
Now, 32 years later, they have two children and after a move in 2016 they now live in West Cork on The Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland.  They have one child at University in Wales working on a Masters degree in Psychology and another at the London College of Fashion studying Make up, Hair and Prosthetics for Performance (Training to become a sci-fi makeup artist for film and TV basically).

Gayle was an Account Manager for a manufacturing company until 6 years ago when, after a weird shamanic experience in Brazil, she changed her life path. Whilst on a road trip around California in 2013, she read some disastrous books and when she returned home decided to write one of her own. Having never creatively written a word since school, she picked up her iPad and hesitantly started to write in secret thinking she'd write a short story. Before she knew it, she had 20 chapters and 97000 words!

"It is great to see your work come alive," Gayle says. "Although you have had various Beta readers telling you it is a great story and a real page turner until a publishing company says 'Yes we want your work' you only think your friends are being nice and trying not to hurt your feelings. Seeing the front cover being emailed to me for approval was when the reality hit me that this was actually happening and people other than my friends were going to read it."

Gayle writes suspense and paranormal novels with a very dark twist, aimed at 18+ age group. After a short break from writing due to her move in 2016, she is now writing full time and has four novels published and one short story to be released on 14th December 2016. She has another short story that has been submitted to her publisher and is hoping it will be released early 2017, with a full novel being submitted in the new year with another April 2017.

This season treat yourself to a special #romance. Beware those who dabble in #magic...#HEA @sirenbookstrand

I'm featuring a story I wrote that was published by Siren, but we missed the season and so regrettably it didn't really reach the people who love magical Christmas flavored stories.
I decided that this year I would try to bring it to the attention of all my lovely readers. Thank you so much to all of you. I write from my heart so you have a piece of it.

About the book:
I got the idea for this story very late at night as I shivered in a sudden downpour of rain on my way home from work. It was still summer at the time and although late, the sky was still quite light. That happens in Britain where I live and often dawn comes in at around 3.30 a.m. How do I know this? I’m often still up writing or playing around with graphics for book covers. I’m lucky because my day job is in shifts so often I can grab a few hours’ sleep and still get to work on time.
My hero, Jason Chandler, doesn’t know what he is. Maybe an angel, or a spirit, he only knows he’s given assignments to fulfill by the enigmatic higher powers of the universe. This assignment is different, and when he finds himself materialize beside Simi, my heroine, he’s instantly hopeful that his lonely existence is about to change. The action in Candle Magic starts on Christmas Eve and is full of love and magic.
Often in my stories there's a thread that maybe people miss. In Candle Magic the thread is in Jason's name and the reason he is what he is when he materializes beside Simi. The old name for someone who makes and sells candles id Chandler.
Here’s the blurb:
When Simi finds a pretty old candlestick among the discarded props in the company storeroom, she never imagines it will grant her dearest wish. There’s something mysterious about the carved candlestick, but Simi is drawn to it. She’s saved a red candle from a box she bought years ago in an antique shop, and intends to use the candlestick to hold the last candle and make her solitary Christmas lunch more festive. It’s Christmas Eve, there’s sleet in the wind, Simi slips, but Jason catches her. Who is Jason? Where has he suddenly appeared from in the night?
Simi looks into the eyes of this gorgeous man and sparks fly …

Erotic fantasy romance from Siren Publishing and Elodie Parkes

18+ teaser

The mist parted. The sight of a man walking toward her captured her in a spell. Simi stared at him, unable to move.
He flowed slowly toward her, and then he was there in front of her, extending his arms to hold her. His cornflower blue eyes, fringed with dark lashes, filled with emotion. He smiled at Simi and she registered how handsome he was, how completely gorgeous he was, before magically she was in his arms. He held her close.
Gratitude surged through her. Her heart opened to soak up the love he gave her. His face close, Simi yearned for his lips on hers, and then—he kissed her. It charged her whole body with such a surge of raw sexual energy her pussy drenched her inner thighs. She drifted in a heavy fog of his kiss-induced lust.
The softness of his lips changed from a gentle, loving merging to a hungry searching as her tongue met his.
Naked in his arms, Simi pressed against his hard body, her clothes strangely gone. Yet she accepted that as ordinary when his hands swept over her skin and grabbed her ass to lift her against his body. Her stomach contacted the hard column of his erect cock, and she sighed into his mouth.

PG 13+
At around ten, the party guests started to thin out. Simi cleared away some empty dishes and bottles. She was bent over the table when someone came up behind her and grabbed her around the waist. Surprised, Simi gasped and squirmed around to find it was Carl.
His beery breath hit her full in the face. “Hi, Simi. Christmas kiss?”
Simi wanted a Christmas kiss, but not from Carl. “Where’s Angie, your girlfriend?” She eased out of Carl’s grasp.
He let her go. His eyes filled with sadness and he shrugged his shoulders. “We broke up. Sorry, Simi, didn’t mean to be obnoxious. You looked so inviting bent over the table. Nice dress, lovely stockings. Where’s your man of the moment?”
Simi felt sorry for Carl. “Sorry to hear about the split. I thought you two were a done deal.” She didn’t remind Carl there hadn’t been a man of the moment for the three years she’d been at the firm.
A huge sigh escaped him before he answered. His voice dripped sorrow. “I thought so, too. I love her. She said I was a flake and so untidy it was driving her mad. She stormed off on Monday and won’t answer my calls.”
Simi didn’t know what to say as his eyes filled with tears. He was untidy, but he wasn’t a flake at work. She gazed at him sympathetically, her own eyes spiking with tears in response.
He blinked. “I’ll help you clear up a little.”

Candle Magic by Elodie Parkes is a contemporary romance set around Christmas Eve that weaves magic, romance, and sexiness into one juicy story. When Simi discovers a forgotten candlestick in a company storeroom, she has no idea of its power to grant wishes. She just knows that she wants true love more than anything. And on Christmas Eve, her wish is granted. Jason arrives, magically, out of nowhere, and begins to spoil Simi in ways she couldn't even have imagined. But what if Jason is too good to be true? How long will the candlestick's magic last? And what about the secrets that the candlestick brings to light? Read this sexy and magical story to find out all the details of Simi and Jason's sultry romance.

This is a very sexy romance and should only be read by mature, adult readers. That being said, if you like steamy romances with hot men who appear out of thin air like magic and grant your sexiest wishes, this book is for you! Jason was an amazing character! Gorgeous, sexy, in the right place at the right time. But he was also mysterious and kept me guessing. Where did he come from? How long would he stay with Simi? What secret baggage did he bring with him? These were all great questions that the author used to keep the characters more complex and interesting and hold readers' attention.

“Where have you been?” Edward snapped as he sprang to his feet.
Guy laid his hat and jacket on the chair on top of Edward’s then offered a conciliatory smile. “I have begun to seduce her, as you wished.”
Edward stared at the younger man. His face was flushed and beautiful with youth and happiness, and his eyes sparkled silver-blue like the snow under the crisp winter sun. He reached out and caressed Guy’s cheek, rasping his thumbnail against the stubble on Guy’s skin.
“How was she?”
Guy glanced at his feet and cleared his throat.
“Guy?” Edward’s heart pounded hard beneath his white cotton shirt as an idea began to unfurl in his mind. “Guy?”
The artist met his gaze and smiled. “She is…as you described. Beautiful, cultured, well-mannered. Though she was also…”
“Tell me!” Edward was surprised at his own tone. He had sent Guy out to Anne, knowing she was a widow now. She had been widowed eighteen months, in fact, but he’d been abroad when her husband had passed, and only returned six months since with Guy in his employ. As a widow, previously married to a much older man, Edward hoped she would now be ripe for the picking. All his memories of Anne were of a tender, voluptuous, sensual woman ready for marriage and mating. He had held back from taking her during their courtship in spite of his burning desire to make her his as soon as possible. He had been prepared to wait until they were safely wed before he bedded her, but then she had given herself to another. A fat, greasy businessman who was surely no match for her elegance and beauty. Yes, it was true that she had no family name to match his own, but he had not cared a jot for that. After seeing his parents’ loveless marriage, Edward had harbored no intentions of marrying for money and social connections. Perhaps he had been a romantic, a dreamer, a fool. Yes…he had been a fool because he had believed that she loved him as much as he loved her. She had broken his heart in two.
As he would hers. With Guy’s assistance.
“I went to her home as agreed, Edward. It didn’t take much to encourage her to allow me to sketch her.” Guy didn’t finish his sentence but Edward knew what he meant. Anne had allowed the artist to see her naked, in all her milky-white-skinned beauty as he had longed to do. Well, he would see her thus. And soon. But it might take one or two more visits from Guy first.
“But you did not…”
Guy shook his head. “No I did not take her fully. I kissed her and caressed her and tasted her. She really has the sweetest flavor, like honey-cake and madeira wine.” Guy licked his lips and Edward pulled him into his arms and kissed him hard. He pressed his tongue between Guy’s teeth and plundered the younger man’s mouth, desperate to find some trace of Anne. Guy responded to him, running his hands down over Edward’s behind, and squeezing his firm cheeks until Edward knew that they’d continue this until they were both spent.
Edward pulled away and stared into Guy’s eyes. “Will she surrender? Do you really believe she will?”
Something flashed across Guy’s face and Edward wondered at it for a moment. Was it guilt? Regret?
“I believe that she will, Edward. I truly believe that. She is lonely and needy. I don’t think she has been loved as a woman should. She is not like the others.” His golden eyebrows met above his aquiline nose as he frowned. “They are grasping, clawing, and it’s all about them. But Anne Blackburn, she responded so sweetly and so tenderly that it was hard to leave her. The others I could not wait to escape from once I had attended to their needs but with Anne…”
Edward swallowed hard. He could see in Guy that same affection growing for Anne that he had once felt. Was it because Guy was his lover and they were in some way similar in their tastes? Guy did not usually lust after women. He had lain with women of the ton for Edward’s sake so that his plan would work, but when they took a woman together it was Edward who desired the female presence most. Guy just seemed to go through the experience to please his patron. So Edward was surprised that Guy actually seemed to be attracted to Anne. Yet he should not be, because she truly was beautiful in an innocent yet worldly way. She was a walking oxymoron of naïve experience and virtuous passion—a spring waiting to be tapped like the one in Bath which offered restorative properties and improved health to those who drank from it. Would Edward’s mind and body improve under Anne’s tender ministrations? Lord knew that he had not been right since he lost her. He had never again experienced that same joy and hope that she had given him during their brief courtship. And though he knew that he wanted to hurt her, he also knew that a life without her in it would be a dull life indeed. But crush her he would to avenge himself for the way she had torn his heart and life to shreds.
“Undress, Guy.” Edward pulled off his own clothes and watched as his lover did the same. When they were both naked, Edward pulled Guy to him and kissed him again, this time more tenderly than before. Guy ground his hips into Edward so that their erections met and their mutual arousal intensified.
Edward reached around his lover and slipped his finger between the artist’s tight buttocks, sliding it into the tight heat that he longed to penetrate with his cock. Guy gasped against Edward’s mouth. “Let me suck you first.”
“Yes.” Edward allowed Guy to lower him to the bed, then he surrendered to the hot mouth and tongue of his lover, his pleasure all the sweeter because he knew that the very same lips had so recently caressed the woman he loved.
