Interview with @SilkeMing as she visits with new #menage #eroticromance from @sirenbookstrand

INTERVIEW WITH SILKE MING
Q.     Who is Silke Ming?
She is a lady who loves to laugh, and enjoys having her friends around.

Q.     Why did you choose the romance genre for your writing?

I had always thought that erotic romance novels were written by older men hiding in closets, and was surprised to find out that most of the romance authors are female, who are proud of their craft. I really wanted to write Barbara Cartland type novels, but got a rude awakening when I submitted my first novel to several romance publishers.

Q.     Why do you say that?

They had no interest in sweet romance novels, or as they so politely put it, they were not interested in purple prose.

Q.     How many romance novels have you written so far?

Right now I’m on my seventeenth manuscript.

                Q.    And what are you working on? Or are you superstitious, Silke?

Let me put it this way. I will not walk under a ladder, nor will I allow a black cat to cross my path and I am always wary of Friday the thirteenth. However, I don’t mind sharing my WIPs. I am writing my first MM, and it surrounds a defrocked priest, and the second WIP is about a homeless girl who just happens to meet Mr. Right on a street corner.

Q.     They both sound yummy. I can imagine how sinful they will be, but I’ve noticed that your books aren’t all about love and sex. You tackle some very trending matters.

 A.    Yes, I do. I’ve touched on subjects like female genital mutilation, a brutal practice of circumcising young girls, which is still being done in many parts of the world.

Q.     Silke, what are your pleasures in life?

A.     I am an avid gardener. As soon as the spring thaw is gone, I am one of the first persons out there trudging through the slush in the back garden. Traveling is my number one passion, gardening comes in a close second and lastly, cooking.

Q.     You seem to have traveled extensively. Is there one place you haven’t yet visited, but would like to?

A.     Bora Bora and the islands of the South Pacific.

Q.       Have you any regrets about your life? Or is there anything you wanted to do or wished you had done?

 A.      I wish I had learned to play the violin. I envy people who took the time to learn to play the instrument, and are so good at it.

Q.     Who is your favorite author and why.

 A.    I love the Austen sisters, Charlotte Bronte and Charles Dickens. I have been reading these authors’ books since I was a little girl and I have lost count of the times that I have read Jane Eyre.

Thank you, Silke. It was a pleasure speaking with you, and I wish you continued success on the path you have chosen.

Thank you, Elodie.

STORY EXCERPT

Katie waited nervously in the coffee shop for Bridges to arrive. Her long, red hair, cascading like a waterfall over her shoulders, swayed each time she moved her head. After waiting for close to ten minutes, she saw him approaching from the east side of the street, hard hat in hand. She remembered those broad shoulders, the sway of his hips, and the hollows his dimples formed when he smiled. Her heart flip-flopped in her chest and her palms became clammy.
Oh, God! One glance and she wanted him. The last time she’d seen him had been a few months earlier, and he’d had the same effect on her.
He seemed to be looking for the coffee shop, and when he saw it, he paused, waiting to cross the street.
Watching him from afar, she noticed the similarities between him and Mason. When they walked, it seemed as if they were the only men on the earth. She never took her eyes off him, and when he had the opportunity to cross the street, his pace quickened and he smiled, perhaps to a polite driver. He opened the door of the coffee shop, and she felt as if her heart had ceased to beat. Here was the man she had loved for most of her life, the man who had taken her virginity and had shown her the ways of the world. Here he was again, about to reenter her life.
Spotting her, he strode directly to her and sat down, not trusting himself to touch her. He gazed into her eyes and she into his.
“Hello, Katie,” he crooned.
Her panties were immediately creamy and wet. Moving uneasily in her chair, she greeted him.
“Hello, Bridges,” she replied, rubbing her sweaty palms on the knees of her jeans. She was nervous and it showed. “How are you?”
“I’m very well. No need to ask how you are. You are still as beautiful as the first day we met.”
That voice sent thrills up and down her spine. God, the man didn’t have to do too much to get her going.
“And you’re still as charming. I’ve already ordered. What are you having?”
“You,” he whispered softly. “Unfortunately I can’t have you, so I’ll have a double espresso. What are you drinking?”
“Mint tea,” she said, unable to tear herself away from his gaze.
“I miss you, Katie. I asked you this before when I saw you in Chapel Hills a few months ago. Why did you disappear from my life without a word to me?”
“Everything happened very quickly. My mother sent me to take care of Agatha. One thing led to another, and it all just progressed from there.”
“Do you love him?”
“If you are referring to Mason, the answer is yes. I love him very much.”
“Do you love him as much as you loved me?”
“I know what you want to hear, but it’s not a fair question, Bridges. You’re trying to paint me in a corner.”
“Yes, I want to get you in that corner, but right now I want to know how you feel about me, because I still love you as much as I did three years ago.” He reached across the table and held her hand. “Tell me that you still love me.”
“Yes, Bridges. I have always loved you, and will always love you.”
“Does that mean you’ll come back to me?”
“I’ll never leave Mason. I love him too much. You should get to know him. He’s a beautiful man.”
“I don’t understand where that leaves me.”
“Mason knows I still love you, and he advised me to talk to you about it.”
“I can’t live without you, Katie. The last three years have been hell on earth.”
“Why didn’t you search for me? Why did you marry someone else?”
“What was I to do? I thought you didn’t love me anymore.”
“Oh, Bridges,” she replied, squeezing his hand. “After I left, I was sure you didn’t care for me, and my heart ached for you. I thought how stupid I was to allow your brothers to take advantage of me because it was the only way I could get close to you.”
“Precious Katie. Is that what you did?” he asked, his voice making her panties wetter.
“It was the only way I could get into the Ridley ranch. Rock took advantage of it, and Jeff always seemed to follow him to get his share.”
“I’m so sorry, Katie. If there is anything I could do to undo all the wrong, believe me, I would.”
“There’s no need to worry about all that. The past is behind us, and I’ve found a man who loves me in spite of everything he has heard about me.”
She stared into those cool blue eyes and saw Mason’s face. It seemed as if she was doomed to spend her life attached to one or more of the Ridley brothers.
Their conversation was interrupted when the waiter arrived with their coffee and tea and an afternoon snack.
“Do you like working with Mason?”
“Yes, I do. I have responsibilities, but not as many as I had working with my brothers.”
“Why did you really leave the company?”
“There are two reasons. It became more and more difficult working with Rock and Jeff. They’ve really never grown up, and it was too much for me to shoulder the business alone.”
“And what was the second reason?”
“I thought of leaving on more than one occasion, but this time, I got word that another company was interested in me. When I found out it was Mason, I jumped at the opportunity because I knew a partnership in his company would bring me closer to you.”
“And now that you’re here in Wilton Park?”
“You tell me, Katie. I’m willing to settle for whatever you can offer me.”
“You’re a wonderful human being, Bridges. You deserve only the best.”
“I wish polygamy was legal in this country. I’d marry you at this very moment.”
“Don’t say that, Bridges. It’s not healthy to think that way. You deserve better than that.”
“Give me hope, Katie. No matter how small.”

ADULT EXCERPT
“You like that?”
“It tickles,” she said softly.
He ran the feather over one nipple, and it immediately rose like a mountain peak. Circling it over and over again, he watched the heightened arousal on her face. He moved the feather to the other breast and she moaned, her hips moving gently in his direction. He ran it along her neck, down to her breasts, and up again.
“Still tickles?” he asked.
“No,” she said, shifting from side to side. “Feels like a creepy-crawly moving across my body.”
“And you don’t like it?” he asked, running the feather along her navel and above her curly mound.
This elicited only a groan from her.
He stepped back and stared at her, laid the feather down, and disappeared. Katie writhed, trying to free herself.
“Mason? Where are you?”
There was no answer, and after waiting for what seemed like ages, she called out to him again. “Where are you, Mason?” she shouted.
“Missed me already?” he whispered, putting a small container onto the floor and a shaving brush and razor onto the bed.
“Where were you?” she asked, trying to move her head to the side.
“I was looking for something.”
“Mason, please tell me what you’re doing.”
“You’ll soon find out, my love,” he replied, dipping the brush into the container and lathering her mound.
“What are you doing?”
“Just wait and you’ll see when I’m finished.”
“Are you going to shave me?”
“How did you know? Does it turn you on? I’ve wanted to do this for a very long time,” he said, pushing aside bits of red hair that clung to his fingers.
When he was through, he wiped away the remnants, removing any evidence of the fiery-red hair that once existed there.
“God, you’re beautiful,” he said, moving his fingers feather-like across her cleanly shaven mound.
He once again picked up the feather, his new instrument of torture, and ran it from her breasts, over her navel, and down to her velvety mound, his hard cock grinding all the while against her naked thighs.
“As smooth as a baby’s backside,” he said.
Katie squirmed and moaned as he returned the feather to her tortured nipples.
“No man can love a woman as much as I love you,” he whispered, laying down the feather and claiming her lips. “You’ll always be mine. Forever! I’ll share you, Katie, but I’ll never leave you.”
While he stroked that magnificent cock, he ran one finger over her bare mound, descending to her swollen nub of pleasure. She gasped as he possessed it, circling it agonizingly slow. She cried out as the euphoria overtook her body, and she begged for release, but he wasn’t ready to ease her suffering. He continued his torment, and she rotated her hips, clearly trying to get as much satisfaction as she could from the solitary finger that would conquer that elusive orgasm. His warm tongue lapped against her pert nipple, finally sucking it into his mouth, pulling it and extending that scarlet peak to its full length, and that single finger coated in her nectar found its way between her lips.

STORY EXCERPT:
I am about to point out a cute guy to Sarah, when I realize who I am looking at.
“Oh, my God, oh, my God! It is him!”
“It is who?” Sarah asks.
“The guy from outside the store the other day.”
She responds with a, “No way!”
I tell her to scope his eyes. They are the most perfect green eyes I have ever seen.
Tracey sees who we are talking about and says, “Damn, girl! He is hot!”
He must feel me staring at him because he turns right to me, and I instantly turn around, embarrassed to be caught. He starts over to our table with a sense of purpose, and I am mortified, and beet red in the face. Tracey is hitting my arm and telling me to pull it together because he is almost here. I suddenly hear, “Hey, ladies.” I close my eyes. What a sexy-ass voice!I can smell his cologne, and it is heavenly.
I turn around and say, “Hey.”
“What are you ladies up to tonight?” his sexy voice asks us.
Tracey responds with, “Oh, you know, just a girls’ night out, a few drinks, and some dancing.”
He looks right at me and says, “Nice. Maybe I can get a dance, later?”
“Sure,” I respond back with a smile.
Then I realize my panties are soaked, and it reminds me of just how long it has been since I have had sex. I am not even referring to good sex, just sex in general. I don’t dare tell the girls that, but excuse myself, and go to the ladies’ room. When I return, there is another round of drinks at the table, and the music has gotten a little louder. I grab my seat, and enjoy my next drink. I catch myself scanning the bar looking for him, and realize he didn’t even tell me his name. I probably won’t even see him again tonight. I mean, if he really wanted to dance, he would have introduced himself, right?
Sarah must realize I am thinking too much, because she grabs my hand and pulls me on the dance floor. “Dark Horse,” by Katy Perry is playing. There are not a lot of people out here, but that never bothered us; we are known for getting the dance floor started.
I tell her that I feel like someone is watching me, and she responds with, “That’s because he is watching you.”
“Are you serious?”
She smiles and nods at me, and I just start laughing like she told me a funny joke. We dance another song together, and Tracey joins us, filling us in that Melissa is going to hang out at the table, as usual. I see him head over to the table, and the feelings I have are not good. I am feeling a bit angry as I watch him talk to Melissa. Did I misread the situation? How could he have looked right at me, and asked me to dance, yet he is talking to Melissa? Still watching the scene unfold at our table, Melissa notices, and as soon as he walks away she gives me a thumbs-up to let me know they were probably talking about me. I instantly regret getting angry, and will myself to gain some control. I don’t even know his damn name!
I shake him out of my head, and start dancing again. Sarah taps me on the arm, and points to our table. He has bought us a round of drinks, and I realize I am not sure how I feel about this.Coming on a bit strong, no? I decide to head back to the table, and of course Sarah and Tracey follow.
As we arrive, he turns around and says, “This round is on me.”
I say, “Thanks,” with an attitude.
Sarah looks at me like, What the fuck? and I shrug my shoulders.
He walks off with a slightly hurt look in his eyes, and I instantly feel bad. What is my problem? It is just a round of drinks! Why am I mad? I knew coming out was a bad idea. After a few sips of my drink from Mr. Hottie, I decide I need to hit the ladies’ room so I can try to change my mood. I leave the table walking with my head down because my mind is reeling, until I smack right into what feels like a brick wall. I look up to apologize, and it is Mr. Hottie himself. I roll my eyes at my clumsiness and apologize. He looks me dead in the eyes and says, “Maybe I should be apologizing. It seems I’ve upset you,” as he takes his hand and removes a piece of my hair from my face. His touch sends a wave of shock through my body, and I break out in goose bumps.
“No, you didn’t upset me. Thank you for the drinks. It’s just that…I …um… It’s complicated.”
“Like you have a man complicated?” And I want to laugh and tell him I was once married, but he was no man.
“Ex complicated.”
He smiles and says, “Ex complicated is way better than man complicated.”
This time I do laugh. I hold out my hand and say, “Abbey,” by way of introduction. He returns the shake and says, “Seth.”
“It is nice to formally meet you, Seth!”
“Trust me, the pleasure is all mine.” I realize I am no longer in need of the ladies’ room, and I invite him to join us. He declines but tells me he will be around for the dance I promised him. I smile and say, “Great, see you soon.” When I get back to the table my friends all have their mouths hanging open, and they beg for details. I fill them in on his name and our conversation and how he has promised to stop back over for a dance, and I realize I haven’t stopped smiling.

Five questions for the author
Q: Every book is special to an author.  What is it about this book that makes it special for you?
A:  It’s my first! This was a book I just sat down one day and started writing. I asked a few people to read it once I was a few chapters in and they all said ‘keep going!’ so I did and that is how the Learning To Love series was born.

Q:  Sometimes things happen when you are writing a series that wasn’t expected at all.  Have you had this happen to you?
A:  All the time! I am not good at writing a book that is planned out because I NEVER stick to the plan so it I sit and write as things come to mind! This series has a fourth book I never planned on writing originally but as I was writing each book Michael’s character grew to be a part of everyone’s lives so I decided to give him a story and so the fourth book was born!

Q.  Is that why you always include a danger element to your books?
A.  The danger part is what keeps me wanted to read. I add them because when I decided to start this journey part of my purpose was to keep in mind what I liked and didn’t like about books I’ve read. I like the wonder of what will happen next if there is a little danger involved.
Q.  What are you working on at the moment?
Well I am working on the idea for a new project. The four books of the Learning to Love series have been written and you will see them all out soon, however I am working on a standalone that will probably be out early 2016.
Q.  Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?
A.  There are a lot of people who have not read my work because this is my first book and so if you are purchasing this book and giving me a shot I thank you so much! I have fallen in love with writing and hope to provide readers with many books they will love and enjoy. I think I have grown a little with each book I have written so I look forward to hearing what you all think about each book in the series as they come out.

Author bio:
Thank you for choosing to read my book. I am a stay-at-home mom to two children who are my world. My husband has a very tough job so I work part time and take care of the kids. I live in a small town in the state of Massachusetts where I was born and raised. As a child and young adult I was never a big reader but fell in love with it after having my son and built up quite the collection of romance novels. As I started to read more and more I started to notice things I really enjoyed in a book and things I didn’t. One morning I woke up and decided that I wanted to write my own series keeping those thoughts in mind. I was frustrated over the lack of hours with my job and decided if there was ever a time to give this a go it was now, so I pulled out a tablet and just started writing. I hope you enjoyed my first book as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Interview with Evernight author, Elodie Parkes, courtesy of Kiru Taye blogger and author

Q1) Can you tell us a little about yourself
I’m English and live in Kent right now. I work in a tourist driven antiques emporium. I have a couple of dogs and they often come to work with me if I’m traveling to pick up antiques or working in the renovating area, or the back offices where we do graphics and produce the auction brochures.

Q2) Have you always wanted to be an author?
Well, I’ve always written stuff. I don’t know that I wanted to be anything specific for a long time. I went to University (college) and I have three different degrees and grad. dips. Then when I couldn’t get work in any of the fields I’d studied I traveled for a couple of years doing all kinds of work in Europe and Australia. Then came back, applied for the job I have because I could use lots of my skills in it and there you are. I’ve written stories since I was seventeen and had a couple published in magazines, along with some poetry. I had stories on my computer for years before I finally submitted and was published again.

Q3) Who are some of your favorite writers? Who do you feel has influenced your writing?
I don’t think anyone has influenced me. I’m influenced by the things I see, people who pass me, road signs, animals, the ocean, a picture, loads of things will just seed in my brain and hey presto a story evolves. Emotions influence me too. I have no favorite writers. I read widely and avidly, just gobble up books.

Q4) Can you tell us what a typical writing day for you is like.
I don’t have a typical writing day. When I have any time at all, I just run at the laptop and write. (Smiles) In the winter when all the hours at work are cut a little, I might have a day that I allocate to a story that’s nagging me to write it. Then I sit down and write until I realize I’m starving or thirsty and my dogs are starting to prowl around the study wanting to go for a walk.

Q5) Let’s talk about your new Evernight book.  Can you tell us a little about it?

The Summer Heat
It’s an erotic romance ménage story. The inspiration came from a tree being cut down in the communal gardens of the cottages where I currently live. I didn’t even see it felled, but I was immensely saddened as this was a healthy young tree.
There are two very attractive men, lifelong friends who are my heroes. In my story, these gorgeous guys are cutting down a diseased tree in their garden, and that’s how they see Annabel, my heroine, move in next door.
She’s ready for love and although they don’t know it at first, so are they.

Here’s the blurb,
When lifelong friends Nate and Evan watch the arrival of a new neighbor, they never expect to find their friendship rocked by the lovely Annabel who moves into the empty house next door.
Annabel likes both Nate and Evan the moment she meets them. As they all grow close, will she be forced to choose between these gorgeous men?

Q6) How did you come up with the idea for this story?
It just dropped into my head. Seriously, that happens with most of my stories. I see something and within hours, a story has unfolded in my head. A signpost that I passed when I was driving home from a work trip inspired my last ménage story, with Evernight Publishing, ‘Swoop on Love’. A couple of friendly horses in a paddock inspired, ‘Night of the Horse.’ A pond inspired, ‘A Little Mysterious’, although it also helped that a truly delectable guy came into the emporium and talked with me about a Georgian table. He was the physical inspiration for Dhruv my vampire.
So finding a lovely tree had been felled in the gardens saddened me but also because the stump was left in the lawn there a story idea came to me. I was also hoping for a hot summer this year, having seen little sun last year and so the story was set in a hot summer, hence the title, ‘The Summer Heat.’

Q7) What is up next for you?
Siren Publishing= full length erotic romance, ‘Café in the Park’ is slated for release October on all major ebook sites and next March/April in print.
I have three stories on my computer in various stages of life. All erotic romance and all clamoring to be written, but I’m on hiatus at the moment from writing because of the long hours in my day job. I have to watch out not to be away from writing for too long though as it’s depressing. (smiles)
I have one story gone for submission.

Q8) What is the best piece of advice you would give to a budding writer?
Write, write, read, don’t be discouraged because it’s hard work and sometimes very disappointing but if you have a story to tell, tell it.

Q9) What is the next book on your To Read Pile that you are dying to jump into?
Christine Feehan' s new Dark series release, ‘Dark Blood.’

They got through her front door before they leapt on each other.
Nate didn’t know how they got their clothes off. The haze of lust at the deliciousness of her kisses fogged his brain. They were in Annabel’s living room, and he was already pounding into her.
Her lips brushed against his ear. Her whispers and moans mingled with his moaning.
He held her under the ass and fucked her hard as she clung to him.
Her hands on his shoulders, she met his thrusts with her hips raised.
His orgasm started with his balls tightening so that he thrust into her as deep as he could. Into his heart dropped the need to make sure she came. He slowed down, kissed her lips, nibbled down her neck, and sucked there.
She bucked her hips to his.
He ground his cock on her clit as he slid into her again.
She moaned into his mouth.
Her pussy clenched around his cock as she pressed her body against him, and he knew she was coming. It filled him with love. He didn’t need to pound into her to come. His orgasm flowed over him as he kissed her. It buckled his knees and weakened his thighs as the ripples of sensation jerked his cock inside her. Nate groaned as Annabel’s tongue touched the tip of his. He pressed his stomach against her enjoying the pressure and satin texture of her skin on his. A melting sensation drifted over him, and he rested his forehead on her shoulder.
“How do you feel?” He whispered against her ear.
She made a little sound, not quite a word.
He interpreted it as pleasure. That’s what it sounded like to him, as if she’d tasted something good. He lifted his head and kissed her tenderly. “Next time, maybe we can slow down, but I needed that so bad.”

Read a glittering review.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous
By LBAS Book Blog

Oh my! This is one fabulously hot story. Annabel has just moved into a new neighbourhood next door to two hot men, Nate and Evan. She is attracted to both of them but is worried she is going to end up losing both of them.
Nate and Evan have been best of friends forever. They share a house and life although not in a sexual way. When Annabel moves in, Nate is the first to ask her out. But this causes a rift between his friendship with Evan. Evan wants Annabel too but knows he can't tread on his friend's toes.
How are they going to work this out?
I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. I loved all three characters and it has one of the most erotic love scenes I've ever read. I give this book full marks for that scene alone. I'm not going to give you spoilers. You seriously have to read it for yourself.

Q10, One last question, Elodie, describe your The Summer Heat characters for us in a few sentences.

Annabel. She’s ready for love and looking for someone after her last miserable relationship. I imagine her surprise when she meets Nate and Evan, and has strong attraction to both of them.

Nate: He’s gentle, kind, sensually sexy, very good looking. Friends mean a lot to him. You can feel safe and loved with him, but boy do you know when he’s made love to you.

Evan: Strong, alpha, hides his emotions, but sex just drips from his gorgeous body. He calls you babe and takes charge, all the while your soft skin under his fingertips blows his mind.
