Tingle Tuesday Excite and Delight
with Amber Lea Easton
Amber Lea Easton is a multi-published fiction and nonfiction
author. For twenty years, she's worked in the fields of journalism and
advertising with a brief detour into the financial industry.
Although she holds a BA
in Communications & Journalism, she is a perpetual student of life who
enjoys taking classes on a wide variety of subjects when time allows. Smart is sexy, according to Easton, which is
why she writes about strong female characters who have their flaws and
challenges, but who ultimately persevere.
Easton currently lives with her two teenagers
in the Colorado Rocky Mountains where she gives thanks daily for the gorgeous
view outside her window. She finds inspiration from traveling, the people she
meets, nature and life’s twists and turns. At the end of the day, as long as she's
writing, she considers herself to be simply "a lucky lady liv'n the
dream."
Amber is going to excite you today with her book
Kiss me Slowly
Trapped in a set-up that could have him in jail or dead by
Monday, Jonathan Alexander trusts no one in his inner circle. It’s
Saturday. His only hope is Grace Dupont, the best forensic accountant in
Miami. But there’s a glitch with that idea. She's also his ex-girlfriend
who would rather watch him drown than throw him a life vest. Going to her
feels desperate...because he is.
Grace enjoys seeing Jonathan squirm. On your knees boy,
she thinks as he pitches for her help. Always a sucker for the
dark-haired-blue-eyed boys, she risks her precariously balanced life of secrets
to help him. Helping him slaps a target on her back--she's the key to
proving his innocence and that's a bad, bad thing.
Tangled up in whirlwind of conspiracy, murder, million dollar
money trails and diamond smuggling, Jonathan and Grace flee to the sea to stall
for time to prove his innocence. Romance sizzles beneath Florida Keys’
sunshine. Both scoff at happy endings. Both doubt justice.
Both know each kiss could be their last.
Excerpt from Kiss Me Slowly
He
locked the door leading to the galley. The entire Dupont gang waited above
deck, but he needed one more private moment with her.
“Jon,
really, you came to me, remember?” she asked without turning around. “You came
to me because you needed me to protect you. That’s what I’m doing.” She stood
in front of an oversized porthole next to her bed and watched the water lap
against the glass. “I just can’t go yet, okay? I need to see this through to
the end.”
He
cringed at her words. He feared the end would mean one or both of them ending
up in jail or at the bottom of the ocean. “We could be going right back into
danger, Grace.” He wrapped his arms around her from behind and rested his chin
on the top of her head. “Jerry’s plan sounds better.”
“I’m
not ready to say good-bye yet. We barely said hello.” She turned within the
circle of his arms and pressed her hands against his shoulders. “Everything has
happened so fast. I know I come off as stronger than I am. I talk a good game
but…when it comes to you…I’m not so tough.”
“I’ll never tell anyone you’re not the
ruthless bitch you pretend to be.”
“I’m
not sure how to take that.”
He
pressed her against the window and kissed her. He breathed her in, absorbed
every nuance, each taste, the feel of her breasts flattening against his chest,
the stroke of her hands in his hair, every detail until he thought his knees
would buckle.
His
hands pushed her shorts down over hips as she shimmied to help free herself of
the barrier between them. She fumbled with the zipper on his jeans.
“No
time for slow.” Her hand stroked his
penis and guided him into her. “This is the last time, sailor boy. We’re
getting in too deep.”
“I
like going deep.”
“Dangerous.”
She licked his lips, eyes flashing with desire. “Definitely dangerous.”
Grabbing
her wrists, he pinned her against the wall and plunged deep inside her. If this
was truly the last time, then he wanted to savor the feel of her body
enveloping his. With every thrust, he
went as deep as he could go. He wanted
her to feel him inside of her for days to come. He wanted her to close her eyes
and remember what he had felt like between her thighs. He wanted her to squirm with need as she
sailed off to parts unknown.
Their
mouths clung together, air catching between their lips as they gasped for
breath in unison. Eyes wide open, he
savored the feeling of her mouth on his, the sensation of her hands clutching
his ass, the movement of her body sliding against his.
Her
nails sank into his back. Her ankle pressed
into the back of his thigh. She bit his neck.
“The
last time,” she said against his ear.
He
squeezed his eyes closed. The pain of
her words competed with the ecstasy of her body merging with his.
“For now maybe. Not forever.”
“Stop
lying to me.” She grabbed the back of
his head and ground her mouth against his.
She kissed him with a desperation that reverberated through their joined
bodies.
He
tasted blood in his mouth. He dropped
her wrists and lifted her higher. He
needed to be closer. Maybe he needed to go deeper so he’d be the one who
remembered what it had felt like to touch heaven.
They
came in unison with a surge of energy that he felt in every nerve in his
body. She sagged against him. Her mouth moved silently against his neck.
“I
can’t set myself up for failure like this,” she whispered.
“You
never fail, remember?” He buried his face into her hair.. “Six months.” He
struggled to catch his breath. “Date. Fly. Sail. You promised.”
“I
lied.”
“I
know you did.”
