He took the winding road to his palace #teaserTuesday from A #FairyTale #Romance @evernightpub #erotic surprising

Thorn lingered in the town for a couple of hours. He wandered amongst the tourists, enjoying the distant contact with people. When loneliness really took a hold, just being surrounded by strangers was a treat. He stopped at ‘The Drowning Princess Café’ for coffee. As he waited for his order, he re-read the signs on the walls that told the legend of the princess.

Her family sent her to this place, a far off land, to marry a prince. Her father, the old king, did the deal for riches. The prince wanted this woman to love him, but she couldn’t, and pined for her home. Her miserable existence got the better of her, and she threw herself into the sea, here from the quayside where the townspeople erected a tavern to honor her drowning. Her mother, who had opposed the marriage from the start and was rumored amongst her own people to be a witch, had died too not long after, made ill by grief. The legend told of a spell she cast on the prince before she died. It was so powerful a spell that in her broken-hearted condition she weakened from the exertion and died. The modern day café stood on the exact spot where the princess threw herself into the waves, after the original tavern had finally decayed.

Thorn didn’t think there was even a remote truth to the legend when he’d read the posters on his first visit to the coastal town. Now, he sighed, thinking it was more than likely true. He picked up the coffee served to him and drank a little. It was good coffee. He watched people come and go for a half hour and then left to drive home.

He took the winding coast road up the hillside to his palace. As he drove, he considered Sandy. He knew she liked him. She was a sweetheart and one of only three people who knew what he was now. His doctor knew, his lawyer knew, and Sandy. They’d taken some convincing at first. His doc actually attempted a psych evaluation, but then of course, ‘seeing is believing,’ and at a dinner party where Thorn had arranged especially for them to see, they suddenly became his confidants.

Erotic romance writer falls in love with anonymous guy from picture she picks up on Facebook.

This time it's two guys. She writes them a fantasy menage romance.
She gives each a name ... Viridian and Indigo Parr.  They never leave her thoughts until the story is finished and then ... fickle author, she finds a new muse, falls in love, and starts a new story ...

Read a snippet:

Viridian darted down the back street. Not many people knew it led right past a trade entrance to the palace. No one knew that the gate there was the only part of the outer wall that was alarmed. For six feet on either side of the gate the walls were vulnerable. An agile person who could scale the wall there would gain access to the palace grounds. Viridian was not only agile, his natural strength was enhanced by his daily workouts. He was determined to reach the tower tonight. His cock stirred at the thought of Tara. He pictured her ivory skin and long dark hair. He licked his lips. He could conjure up the feel of her lips on his if he concentrated. He pulled off his shirt and pushed it into the back pocket of his pants. The gate loomed in the darkness. Lit by moonlight, the pillars on either side gleamed with embedded flecks of gold. Viridian leapt.

Thorn changed into his faded jeans. He threw together a sandwich and took an apple from the crisper in the bottom of his fridge. As he went down to the beach he ate the apple, his thoughts straying back to the fact he would soon have the stress of strangers staying in the palace. As his worry increased, Thorn couldn’t eat his entire sandwich, and he fed the remains to the crowd of screaming seagulls wheeling low over the edge of the sea.

Early evening approached, but because the darkness of night wouldn’t fall until after eight-thirty, Thorn stayed on the beach walking and thinking until he was far from his home on the hillside. He collected a few pretty shells and skimmed some pebbles in the ocean. He sat down on a rock, lay back, and closed his eyes.

Voices woke him from a short, shallow doze. Two women were walking on the edge of the pale, warm, sea close by.

He sat up to watch them.

An older woman talked loudly as if arguing with the younger woman by her side.

“Don’t stay, Grace … what about your job? This notion of making a living painting has gone too far. How will you afford to rent the holiday villa for a further two months?”

Thorn listened, intrigued. He drank in the sight of the younger woman. She was beautiful. Her dark hair fell down her back to her slender waist. The sea breeze lifted tendrils, and she pulled them from her luscious lips where they rested, to answer the older woman.

It’s Christmas Eve, there’s sleet in the wind, Simi slips, but Jason catches her. Who is Jason? Where has he suddenly appeared from in the night?

Simi looks into the eyes of this gorgeous man and sparks fly …

Read the tease:

Not a sound came from the other apartments. Simi’s breathing echoed in her ears as well as her heartbeat that sped up every time Jason was close as they mounted the last flight of stairs to her apartment.
Simi’s hand shook as she unlocked the door.
Jason stood close to her.
The space between them pulsed, making Simi feel as if he actually pressed against her. The atmosphere suddenly laden with sexual tension, Simi stared down at the parquet floor as she led Jason down her apartment hall to the living room. She stopped and turned to him. He loomed in front of her like a magnet of pure sexual temptation. She dropped her bag by the coffee table and unbuttoned her overcoat. She dared to look into his eyes as she slid the coat off.
“Let me take your coat. The heating is on. We’ll get warm quickly now.” Her voice shook a little.
Jason took his overcoat off and handed it to her with a smile in his eyes.
“Thank you.”
“Sit down. I’ll take these and put some coffee on, or would you like a glass of wine? I think I have some bourbon, too.”
His voice low, he slowly sat on the end of the sofa as he answered, “Coffee is very welcome.”
She practically ran to the coat stand that was halfway down the hall near her kitchen door. She pulled her business suit jacket off and hung that there, too. With a little skip into the kitchen, Simi put coffee on. She left it to percolate and walked back to the living room. With every step, the need to be held against Jason’s muscled chest again grew, until when she saw him sitting quietly on the sofa, her heart gave a huge flip.

Read the #sexysnippet

He slowly, gently, took a few strands of her hair. It slipped between his fingers and he gazed into her eyes. He saw her lean toward him and knew she’d return his kiss. He bent his head to hers. A fraction away from her lips he gazed into her eyes and saw lust. His cock jerked in his jeans. He met her mouth, kissed her slowly, lingering, and sucking her bottom lip a little, as his heart hammered in his chest.

Manic readers
Forever Blue is a lovely little love story. It is ethereal to the max, and I pictured it, if it was a movie, as being shot with a soft focus lens, with muted colors. That is a testament to Parkes’ ability with the descriptive word.
I loved the story, not so much for the love, but for the other worldliness of the whole thing which takes over the story and the characters.  Jasper’s story is poignant and engaging.

A romantic #humpday #MWTease from December, Siren Publishing release, Candle Magic, #fantasy, #erotic fairy tale

MWTease comes from 'Candle Magic' releasing in December
from Siren Publishing

When Simi finds a pretty old candlestick among the discarded props in the company storeroom, she never imagines it will grant her dearest wish. There’s something mysterious about the carved candlestick, but Simi is drawn to it. She’s saved a red candle from a box she bought years ago in an antique shop, and intends to use the candlestick to hold the last candle and make her solitary Christmas lunch more festive. Read the #MWTease
The wind whipped strands of her hair across her face and she limped along. “I don’t have far to go now. I can manage. You must have somewhere to be.”
Jason sighed deeply.
The sound traveled over Simi in a wave. It brought a wash of regret that she’d suggested this gorgeous man stop helping her and leave. She looked up into his eyes and saw sadness.
“I have nowhere to be. It’s Christmas. I’m free to be with you if you want me. I’m no threat. I’d love to help you … at least to your door, Simi.”
Her longing to have a man like him with her for comfort, help, and maybe more, seeded acceptance and trust in her heart. She gripped his overcoat as she leaned into him again trying to excuse her outburst about flattery. “I’m not used to knights in shining armor.” She limped off again and he walked with her, his arm around her almost lifting her from her feet, his pace slowed to give her time to accommodate the lack of a heel on one shoe.
“I’ve not been that for a long time.” His murmured words brought a smile to her lips and she took a deep breath, deciding to talk with him as they made their way to her apartment. “Have you been to a party or something?”
“I’ve been …” He told her, but dipped his head as the sleet became heavier.
Simi didn’t hear the end of his sentence. It was whirled away by the weather’s onslaught. The wind made the icy rain slant into her overcoat collar. She cuddled against him.
Jason stopped walking. He gave her a gentle smile. “We’ll be frozen and saturated by the time we get to your place.” Then he picked her up in his strong arms and cradled her to his body. “I’ll carry you.”
