Excerpt from
Tied to the Boss:
She knew she was good at her job. She worked hard to
get where she was. As soon
as she graduated college, she was hired as an intern at the tender age
of twenty one. Then,
five years of hard work and sucking up earned her the position she was
in today.
The man’s beautiful face scowled at her neck,
accusingly. “What is that?”
“What is what?” She felt her eyes widen in panic mode.
She frantically searched her
clothes, her hands rubbing against her pencil skirt and sapphire
blouse, trying to find a
ketchup stain. “Where is it?”
He groaned. The next thing she knew, he snatched the
end of her aqua colored scarf
and tugged her close to him until she was flush against his hard body.
“This.” He smiled
mischievously, fingering the material near her breast.
Her breathing hitched. He had been completely
professional with her for the past
month. She couldn’t tell if he was just playful today or if he was
truly angry. She took a
moment to search his eyes—the eyes that matched her scarf perfectly.
That’s the reason
she gave in and bought it. His heated eyes bored into hers; she had to
clear her throat
before speaking, suddenly feeling intensely hot.
“Sir?”
He released her scarf suddenly and went to the mini
bar, pouring himself a generous
portion of scotch. “I don’t think Esther is doing a good job training
you.”
“Sir?”
He sighed, casually leaning against the bar. “I really
tried to make this work. I tried
to remain as professional with you as I have with Esther, but you’re
too much.”
The long silence grew and she swore she not only felt but also heard
her heart
dropping. She held her breath as she waited to hear what he was going
to say next. She
gave this company her blood, sweat and tears and finally ended up in
the position she
longed for. She even put her social life on hold to work late and
vigorously through
holidays.
He took a sip of his drink; those blues focused solely
on her. Vicki shifted, suddenly
feeling uncomfortable. She gazed on the floor then peeked up at him.
“Am I being fired,
sir?”
“How long have you been working for me, Ms. Carson?”
Vicki gulped. “In this company? Five years. Directly
under you? A month, sir.”
“You think that’s enough time to train you, Victoria?
A month?”
Vicki closed her eyelids, savoring his smooth deep
drawl and hoping it wasn’t the
last time she’d hear it. She opened her eyes and jumped. She didn’t
hear him advance.
Dominic Nox’s chiseled jaw was mere inches from her
lips, his brilliant eyes deeply
poring into her.
“Victoria.”
She moistened her lips. Dominic caught the action with
his chilling gaze and stared
at her mouth.
“Yes, sir?”
He abruptly turned. “You didn’t answer the question. I
will not repeat it.”
She dropped her gaze, trying to recall his question.
“Oh, uh, yes, sir. I think it’s
adequate time to train me.”
He growled. “Then answer your damn phone when I call.
I think Esther isn’t the
right person
to train you. I think I’ll do it myself.”

Excerpt from Set to be Tied:
Jess hit the
end button without taking her eyes off the stranger. He was dressed in a suit
that screamed money. Blond hair fell long, but tidy. His clean-shaven face made
his jaw look hard. His mouth was currently in a firm line of...displeasure?
Maybe he was uncomfortable. His
light green shirt matched his
eyes that were narrowed in on her chin. Maybe the guy had OCD.
Feeling self-conscious, she
wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, flipped her blue hair
back and graced him with a hard
look of her own. Silently challenging him, her eyes said, if you
have a problem with me, I don't
care.
He met her
eyes, taking a few seconds to assess her expression. Then his kissable mouth
lifted in amusement.
Really,
Coleman? Kissable?
She nodded to
him. Then left the cafeteria, discarding her trash on the way out. On her way to
her car, she stopped at a small floral vendor to admire the potted flowers they
were selling.
She caressed a
begonia, marveling in its natural beauty.
“You look
lost.”
She closed her
eyes, letting the masculine voice caress her body. Hell, his voice was hot
silk.
“I'm not.” She
turned to see the stranger from the cafeteria.
“No, in here.”
He said pointing to his head. “Deep thought.”
“Nope.”
His green eyes
narrowed. “Liar. I can tell when someone holds all those emotions in that
they don't know what is right
anymore.”
“You don't know
anything about me.”
Without
hesitating he reached out, taking a small tendril of her blue hair and holding
it up to the sunlight, admiration in his eyes. “I like it. Like a blue
wildflower.”
She shrugged
the tendril out of his grip. "Not impressed. Thanks.”
He suddenly
shackled her arm and pulled her flush against his hard body. “I can help you.”
His minty
breath brushed her ear, causing her to shiver.
Her eyes darted
around, but the rest stop was barren. The flower vendor was busy flirting with
the gift shop cashier next door. She lifted her chin, kept her voice even and
made sure she didn’t flinch when she gazed into his cocky green eyes. “If you
don’t let go of me, I’ll scream.”
He flashed
brilliant white teeth. “I hope so.”
She jerked a
knee up to hit him in the groin, but as if anticipating her move, he
sidestepped easily, his grip on her arm tightening to hold her still. “I have a
proposition for you.”
She exhaled the
breath she was holding, but held her spine rigid, her struggles lessening.
The place wasn’t completely
barren. If she screamed, she knew help wasn’t far off. And she was
a bit curious of what this
domineering, too-handsome-for-his-own-good, cocky-ass stranger
wanted from her. Through gritted
teeth she said, “I guess I'm forced to listen.”
He shook his
head. His tone soft and even despite her feeble struggles. “Actually I am not forcing
you to do anything. It may appear so, but it's ultimately your choice.”
She stopped
struggling and studied him. His stance was relaxed. His voice level. His chin
and eyes set in knowing. Despite
the attitude, he was attractive, but this guy oozed alpha.
Warmth trickled to her lower
body making her wet. Shit, this was exciting her. She didn’t like it.
Not one bit.

Tied:
“Why’d you bring me here Raphael?”
He took a large swallow of his own. “I’m not sure. Maybe I did it to look after
you.” He eyed her outfit, his eyes traveling up her boots, caressing a sliver
of creamy midriff, and then pausing at the cleavage her corset graciously
pushed up.
“I don’t need looking after.”
“Yes, you do, topolino.”
She straightened to her full five-foot-two when he called her little mouse. He
didn’t give any indication that he noticed her ire. His fingers casually caught
a tendril of her hair, smoothing it to her head; he didn’t drop his hand
though. Just lazily pet her head. “The guy you were dancing with is a
predator.”
“And you’re not?” She shot back. His hand left her head. She almost protested
its sudden absence. “Raphael, please just call me a cab.”
“I will after we talk.”
“What is there to talk about?”
One side of his lips lifted in a half smile. “What you saw in the halls. What I
allowed you to see as we were passing by. Would you like to see more?”
She gulped. “I’m not into that kind of, er, lifestyle.”
He took the now empty glass from
her and set it on the nightstand. “Just let me give you a small taste,
Michelle. Just one small taste.”
“I’m a one-partner girl, not into multiple partners.”
His hand tightened in her hair almost painfully. “I would never share you.” He
edged her skirt up to her hips slowly as he whispered, “Let me give you a taste
of my lifestyle.”
