From @RavenMcAllan and @EvernightPub her hot new release, The Contract'

Living in Scotland where summer can be one day in May, and the midges rule from June to September, give me somewhere warm any day. After all mozzies respond to repellent, I swear midges thumb their noses up at it.
I love to travel, and I like setting my books in places I know, so I guess it was inevitable that as I sat by a pool in Barbados I got the idea for this book. (Lot’s of ‘I’s’ in there, ooops, sorry.)
Hubby got used to me saying, stop the car while I take a photo, as we drove around, and then scribbling in a notebook, things I didn’t want to forget.
The upshot, is The Contract, now released by Evernight Publishing.

Walking out of her job was the best thing Nikki Plummer ever did. What she didn’t expect however, was to be tracked down by some hot bod, claiming she owed him.
Ruari Cameron has come to collect what he has paid for, but one look at Nikki, and there’s only one thing he wants. Her in every facet of his life.
Of course convincing Nikki of this might take some doing…but he’s more than ready to rise to the occasion.
Will they find their happy ever after under the Barbados sun?
This is how she got there…
(a wee tease)
“Plum.”
“Go away, I’m not listening.” Nikki Plummer, often called Plum and she hated it, finished emptying her head-high cupboard and slammed the door—hard. Her boss moved back in a hurry to avoid her toes, knees, designer shoes, and anything else in the vicinity being pinched between the door and the jamb. Her numerous bracelets jangled as she did so, and seemed to add their displeasure to the wearer’s.
“Plum, don’t be silly, it was a mistake.”
There it was again. Did the stupid woman have no sense whatsoever? Plum was for signing her work, nothing else. Sheesh, she’d told everyone often enough, and most people accepted it.
Not this one.
The noise of a stiletto tapping impatiently on the parquet flooring only firmed Nikki’s mind up. Her boss could go to hell. The hard way. On her Manolos.
“No.” No to whatever you want. It’s over.
“You’re overreacting, like I said it’s all a silly mistake.” There was a definite note of panic in the voice now. “Plum, stop it and listen to me.”
Yeah, yours you bitch.
“No one called Plum around here.” Nikki checked her desk drawer. She removed three pens, a diary, and her hot as Hades red lipstick and threw them in her kitchen sink-sized bag. Satisfied there was nothing more lurking in a corner, she grabbed her sprint from the underground—fondly known as The Clockwork Orange—ballet flats and stood up.Anything else? Not that she wanted or needed anyway. The rest of the stuff came with the job and could stay with it.
The feeling, the glorious feeling of liberation kicked in. Nikki zipped her bag and put on her jacket.
“Nikki, for god’s sake stop this nonsense.” The voice rose to a screech just one notch short of shattering glass. The panic in it was evident. “Stop being a drama queen and vying for notice.” The other five or six people in the office gave up their pretense of not earwigging and listened openly.
Nikki winced at the shrill tone. “No one could ever even think of vying for attention, Geraldine, in here,” she said calmly, knowing her even note and lack of concern would infuriate the other woman. “Yours or anyone else’s. You command the field in that respect, even down to your own attention, weird though it sounds. Luckily I neither want nor need it. Not now. You fired me, I’m out of here.”
Geraldine Butters stared at her. “I was joking.”
At the back of the room someone coughed, ‘bullshit’.
“You should know I didn’t mean what I said. It was said in jest.” Now the voice was full of panic. “Take off your jacket, put down your bag and get on with that project. I need it by the end of the month. Only you can do it.”
Now we’re getting to the crux of the matter. The project, whatever it is and your lack of ability. Well tough. Too bad, that’s one joke that misfired on you then.
“Don’t care, too late, goodbye.”
“You little bitch, you’ll pay for this. I gave you a job, I sorted your mess…”
That was the last straw. Nikki picked up the waste paper basket, full of sweet wrappers, old take away coffee cups as well as torn bits of paper, old train tickets, and all the detritus of a busy office and upended it over Geraldine’s head.

Welcome to Scarlet Chastain, who talks about her new release, I Kissed a Girl in Vegas, #eroticromance

A kiss is just a kiss…but is it?

Are there differences between kissing men vs. women? Beyond the obvious, one kiss may give you a case of stubble burn and the other may result in a touch of lipstick on your teeth, the answer is yes. Men and women have different feelings about kissing and therefore have different techniques. Men generally think of kissing on a physical level, while women are more intimate and emotional.  Many men think of kissing as a necessary activity to get to something more (hello: sex). It’s the old first base, second base, round to third and score mentality. Women, on the other hand, share a kiss to enhance a relationship and build intimacy.

Which is better? You decide. If you’re in the mood for both, check out I Kissed a Girl in Vegas. There’s kissing in it. xoxo

Tessa Walker’s business trip takes her to one of the poshest hotels on the Vegas Strip. Nursing a break-up, she can use of weekend of fun and sun. Little does she know, her pool cabana mate is none other than famous chef and restaurateur, Gianna Lucini, who introduces her to the world of great food and forbidden passion.

Life as a jet-set chef isn’t all it’s cracked up to be for Gianna. Like her restaurants, she insists on control in the bedroom and her tastes run anything but plain vanilla. She’s ready to give up on love until Tessa serves up an offer Gianna can't turn down.

Excerpt:

“Mark has another talent you’re sure to enjoy. I’m going to take over for him so he can show you. Just keep an open mind and let yourself go, Tessa.” Her slow words mesmerized me as her strong fingers took over and Mark let go. Her hands were small and soft in comparison to his. Gianna’s fingers traveled across my shoulder blades, loosening tight muscles along the way. I grabbed the edge of the table and slid my chair back a few inches. “Relax,” Gianna whispered. Mark moved to my side and casually leaned against the table. He picked up my hand and rubbed small circles around the sensitive area where my thumb met my palm.

“You have a hard time letting go. Don’t you, Tessa?” he asked.

I took a deep breath and reached for my glass of wine, hoping it’d provide much needed liquid courage. Mark grabbed my other hand before it could capture the wineglass.

“You don’t need that to relax. Let me help you.” His graveled voice rumbled its way through my body and stoked the heat settling low in my belly.

My chair suddenly moved out further and he stepped between my knees, facing me. His gaze moved from me to above my head where Gianna stood. She continued her ministrations on my tight muscles. Mark smiled and his gaze moved back to me. His fingers rubbed the inside of my palm in unison with Gianna’s hands at my shoulders. I’d never had two people touching me in this way before. Every cell of my body stood at attention. Like the rhythm of a gentle ocean, their hypnotic caresses washed away any lingering insecurity.

Waves of pleasure coursed through my body in the secluded room smack in the middle of one of the busiest hotels in Vegas. I should’ve been embarrassed by the attention. I should’ve got up and walked away. Things like that don’t happen to me. However, my ass might as well have been crazy-glued to the chair, because I wasn’t moving. The tablecloth brushed over my bare legs as Mark let go of one of my hands and his fingers brushed my thigh. He lowered his muscled body to his knees as Gianna gathered my hair into a ponytail. Her fingers raked through my scalp while Mark’s fingers drew imaginary lines from my knee to high on the inside of my thigh and back again. I swallowed hard as my pulse quickened. I was sure Gianna could see how fast my heart was beating when she pulled my hair and coaxed my face upward to meet her stare.

She smiled down at me. “I want you to clear your mind and just enjoy the moment. Can you do that for me?”

I nodded and closed my eyes. A flash of pain gripped my scalp as Gianna tightened her hold on my hair. My eyelids flew open and I met her crystal-blue gaze that was the color of a Caribbean ocean.

“Be here with me, Tessa. Don’t escape into yourself. I want your eyes on me, or Mark. Believe me, it will make the experience incredible.”

I nodded again and she loosened the grip she had on my hair. Mark’s tongue had replaced his fingers and he left a warm, wet trail on the inside of my thigh. He released my other hand and both of his hands were making their way up the tops of my thighs and under my short skirt.

Gazing at me, his eyes burned hot and he shot me a grin. “Lift up a little, sweetheart.”

I did as he asked and my lacy underwear was quickly swept from me, losing my shoes in the process. His palms cupped my knees, nudging them farther apart. A wave of insecurity washed over me as his gaze shifted to my sex.

“Remember what I said. Relax and enjoy.” Gianna’s voice filled my ear.

BLURB:
Exchange student Drew Clarke should be happy. With a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel all over Australia he shouldn’t have any worries. But when his straight roommate, who he has a crush on, kisses Drew then freaks...he's left without his only friend.
Alone during the holidays and in a foreign country, Drew finds himself lonely. When he meets surfing lifeguard, Scott, he thinks he’s found a distraction in six feet of easy on the eyes male. But when Scott wants to keep Drew in the closet, Drew’s had enough. Will his sexy friend and co-worker Chris be able to pull off a miracle for Drew and make his holiday happy?
EXCERPT:
“You alright, mate?”
I pushed back my sunglasses and peered up at the man standing in front of me in the sand, my eyes watering as I stared into the intense summer sunset.
“I’m sorry?”
“I asked if you were alright.”
When the owner of the voice blocked the sun with his body, I drew in a breath. Hello, Clubbie, I thought. As in everything Australian, the nickname for Surf Lifesavers was short and sweet.
I let my gaze slowly roam the length of the man’s tall broad-shouldered body, noting the uniform of baggy red board shorts and yellow and red long sleeved top. Tan, with a friendly smile, he had shaggy brown hair, which hung in his eyes until he raised the red baseball cap and pushed it back. This guy was every beach goer’s wet dream.
When I realized I was staring, I shut my mouth with a click, wincing when I bit my tongue.
“Yeah, sorry. I was just watching the waves.”
His friendly smile morphed into a cheeky grin. “A Yank, huh? Usually I find Japanese tourists and Danish exchange students sitting on my beach. You’re my first Yank.”
The dimples that appeared with his grin made me want to yank something all right. When he stared at me expectantly, I realized he was waiting for me to respond. I wasn’t shy, just tongue tied by the six feet plus of virile male.
He broke eye contact and skimmed the beach with a practiced sweep of his gaze. “Well, hope you have a good night, Yank. The beach is not patrolled after five o’clock so make sure you stay out of the waves, right?”
“Right,” I muttered to his back as he continued on down the beach, picking up equipment. He carried it inside the low squat building that perched above the beach and disappeared.
Maybe the next few weeks being stuck in town while everyone went home for Christmas wouldn’t be so boring.

Series info

Alien Manhunt 2 is the continuing story of three aliens, Greg – a human – the dominant one in their relationship, Suva an Espoornian – the switch in the threesome, and Taran – a Cinattran – submissive to both of the others.

I liked the characters so much after writing about them for Alien Manhunt 1 (and readers wanted to know ‘What happened next?’) so I decided to write the next stage in their relationship. Like the previous book it is a short story showing an episode in their lives of the characters.

It is intended to finish with Alien Manhunt 3 - that one set on Greg’s planet. Watch this space…

Read an Excerpt:

“No way am I running around naked.”
The two others also standing in the immense forest looked at Greg in astonishment. He knew he sounded petulant, however, he hadn’t expected Espoornia, the home of his elf-like alien partner, Suva, would be so damn cold. It was nothing like their home on the space station, Orion One, which served as an administration, communications and military point for the various nations that co-habited that area of the galaxy. Even his birth planet of Earth, which he hadn’t visited for some years, was far warmer. Unless you were at the poles of his home world, of course.
He shivered and resisted the urge to cup his cock. “If I run around with no clothes on my dick will go blue. Jeez, it will do more than that—it will freeze and drop off!”
Suva said something in his own language and stormed off, his long yellow coat flowing behind him as his lengthy strides took him back to their car shuttle. A densely covered planet, it was impossible to fly from one place to another so the only transport was land-based. Even taking this vehicle involved a journey of many hours.
Taran, the third in their relationship, a reptilian from the planet Cinattra, gave a quirky smile, his dark eyes twinkling in amusement at Suva’s outburst as Greg glanced in his direction. The alien looked away, as if he didn’t want to repeat the Espoornian’s words.
Greg huffed. “So what did Suva just say? I am guessing he swore at me, or something?”
On the space station, translations were broadcast immediately if anyone spoke anything other than the galactic language. There were no such facilities in the middle of the cold—but stunningly beautiful—forest where the trees rose to impossibly soaring heights. It made Greg dizzy looking up.
Taran laughed and Greg studied him, amazed that the youngest of the trio could go bare-chested in this temperature. He might be presenting his gorgeous red, muscular chest, as was normal in his culture, the scales on the sides of his body showing above the belt, but Taran was from a hot world, which made it even stranger to Greg. At least Taran wore leather boots to match his black, jewel-encrusted skirt and the band around his neck. The latter was a sign of his submission.
The Cinattran nodded. “Yes. It was something about your manhood being too small to drop off, and even if it did he would stuff it up your soft human backside.”
Greg’s face tightened. But he couldn’t stay angry for long, and a chuckle escaped him. “I’ll show him too small one of these days!” Walking over to Taran, he ruffled his partner’s long red hair, tied back in its customary plait, so different from his own closely cropped hair. Greg was the dominant one in the relationship, having picked up both guys at a bar on the space station. Suva could switch between roles, being submissive with him while dominant with Taran, who was submissive to both of them. Their relationship usually worked well.
Except everything had changed.

And here's a hotter excerpt:

“Show me what else you do with those talons of yours,” Suva requested in a husky voice as he pulled Taran forward. Cupping the Cinattran’s head, he then gave his young partner a passionate kiss, plunging his tongue inside Taran’s mouth. He so wanted to lay him on the floor and take him then and there, using the yellow rubad plant that he could just see through the trees. The plant had marvelous properties, but that was not in his plans—yet.
Taran took him at his word and wrapped his hand around Suva’s cock through his loose trousers. He did not jerk him, although he gripped it tightly. Suva moved his legs apart to give Taran more room, then raising his head, Suva let his tense neck muscles ease up. Closing his eyes, he allowed himself to enjoy the sensation as his little lover gently ran the ends of his claws along Suva’s long, long shaft. The frisson of tiny pinpricks caused him to catch his breath.

He nuzzled her neck. The lure of sucking just a taste of her blood as he fingered her was too great to resist. He pushed his fingers into her wet pussy, as he sucked her neck.

She arched to his fingers and pressed her neck to his face.

His cock jerked. He felt a rush with the taste of her blood. It thickened his cock further and he thrust his fingers in and out of her.

Welcome back to author Jewel Quinlan who has a new release, 'Extreme Heat' from Evernight Publishing

When photographer Cloe Gaige gets assigned to cover the Pro Kiteboarding finals in Morocco she never expects to run into her childhood crush. Back then, their age difference is what caused her to pull away. Would he resent her for how she treated him back then?
Fully grown, pro kiteboarder Kai Shephard is a tough competitor used to going after what he wants…and getting it. When he catches sight of Chloe in the crowd with her camera, nothing can stop him from trying to be with her again. Except Chloe, that is. Would she see him for the man he is now?

 Read an excerpt:

“I’m glad you’re here, Chloe.”
“You are?”
He turned his head toward her and looked into her eyes, his hands pressed into her back, drawing her closer. “Because I’ve thought of that night hundreds of times.” His words were loaded with meaning.
Chloe skimmed her eyes over his handsome face. He was positively smoldering with emotion. She swallowed hard. This was the moment, the one she would never forget. Her eyes locked on his and her mind churned over the different signals and sensations her body was picking up.
“Have you?” he whispered.
They were so close. His lips were right there, and he could kiss her any second. His deep, dark eyes were drawing her in.
She nodded.
He lay still, waiting, but she said nothing more. “You have to give me more than that,” he said. “I still don’t know what happened. I thought you liked it when I kissed you.”
Anxiety filled her. It was time to come clean. What would he think of her reasons? How would he see her after she admitted what a weak person she was? “I did,” she said blurted. “It was just….”
His clasp on her back remained firm and he turned his body to face hers so their fronts were pressed together. “Just what?”
Chloe could feel her face filling with the heat of embarrassment. Did he really want to talk about it? “It was just…school and my friends and….” She stopped and buried her face in his chest, not wanting to say anything more. He smelled so good. The warm scent of athletic male and ocean breeze.
He grasped her chin with his hand and lifted her face. “What else?”
Looked like she wasn’t going to be able to get out of explaining. He had that earnest look in his eyes again, the one she remembered from long ago.
“I need to know,” he said.
She couldn’t deny him. “Our age difference,” she said with a wince.
“Seriously?” His breath whooshed out with his surprise. “I mean, I know you’ve made comments about it before, but that was the reason you wouldn’t talk to me anymore?”
“Yes. No. Sort of,” she said in a rush. “Couldn’t you see how strange it would have been?”
“No.”
She sighed. “Of course not. You are such a male. If you were a teenage girl you would understand.”
“What is there to understand?”
She pulled away from him and lay on her back once again. “All the pressure,” she said. “To fit in, to be cool, to be part of the group.”
“And you and me would have been a problem?” he asked, sounding hurt.
The tone in his voice caused her long-held guilt to well up. “Not a problem, exactly. Just…not usual. I don’t think the guys in the senior class we always hung out with would have accepted you even if some of my friends had,” she explained. “Come on, Kai. I’m sure you remember what it was like being a teenager.”
He ran a hand through his hair and stared up at the stars. “I do but what I don’t remember is ever having problems fitting in.” After a moment he gave a great exhale. “Okay, sure. I guess I can understand. Not that I’ve ever lived my life caring about that stuff, but…I get it. I don’t like it, but I get it.” Using the arm still cushioning her head and shoulders, he turned her to face him again. “But you did like me then?” he asked.
She nodded.
He smiled. “And what about now?”
She felt shy and squirmy under his gaze but admitted with hesitation, “Yes.”
He beamed at her response. “And does our age difference still bother you? I’m twenty-one and you’re twenty-three. We’re always going to be a couple of years apart.”
She looked away from him feeling very shy and hating it. He still liked her? Was it possible after she’d rejected him? A small thrill shot through her stomach. “No. Why should it bother me?” she said, with a small shrug. Chloe was sure she looked braver than she felt.
“Because I want to be with you, Chloe. I want what was lost to us before.” He searched her face with his eyes and then added in a low voice, “And because I’m going to kiss you.”
