Kick back with a teaser

Two strong male hands grasped her waist, lifted her, and set her on her feet. A deep, attractive voice asked, “Are you okay?—You’re not. You’re freezing and your shoe is broken. Let me help you. I’m here for you.” He held her shoulders, taking some of her weight as Simi limped to face her rescuer.

She looked up and into the eyes of a gorgeous man. Strands of his thick dark hair glistened in the light, thrown off by the strings of fairy lights threaded through the branches of the trees lining this part of the sidewalk. The sleet lent a sheen to these strands and lit him up as if he, too, was a Christmas decoration. Simi gazed at him. She drank in the perfect features of his face. Her eyes dipped to take in his obviously muscled body under his clothes. His overcoat hung open over a black suit. He wore a gleaming white shirt and a black bow tie. He’s perfect.

“I’m fine, thank you,” her voice scratched out.

He gave her a look just short of amused, but definitely disbelieving.

“I know otherwise. Please, it’s Christmas. Let me be here for you.”

The sincerity in his voice soothed her. Trepidation left her, replaced by hope. Bizarre, considering he could be a murderer. She hopped a step.

The gorgeous man stooped and pulled the heel from the paver crack. He grinned at her mischievously and put it in his pocket.

Simi let her shoulder bag dangle from her arm and tried to walk with one foot five-and-a-half inches higher than the other.

The delicious man held her arm gently. He took her bag and slung it over his shoulder.

“I’ll carry that. Put your arm around my waist and lean on me.” He slipped his arm around her shoulders.

She did as he asked. His hard body under her arm comforted her. Simi tried another step. It was still a limp, but suddenly amused, she laughed. She looked up into his handsome face.

“If I’m going to be hanging onto you, I should know your name.”

“Jason. My name’s Jason, and you’re…?”

Simi was lost in the sound of his voice and the flow of delicious tingles down her body as his arm tightened around her. She whispered, “Simi.”

He smiled, his eyes alight with emotion. “That’s a beautiful name. A lovely, soft name for a beautiful girl.”

A little alarm bell went off for Simi. Isn’t that a little too charming? Maybe he is a murderer trying to lull me into trusting him. “Look buddy, don’t bother trying flattery on me.”

His smile widened. Crinkles appeared at the corners of his eyes. He laughed and then shook his head. “Don’t be afraid. I’m not here to hurt you, quite the opposite, and you are beautiful.”

The wind whipped strands of her hair across her face and she limped along. “I don’t have far to go now. I can manage. You must have somewhere to be.”

Jason sighed deeply.

The sound traveled over Simi in a wave. It brought a wash of regret that she’d suggested this gorgeous man stop helping her and leave. She looked up into his eyes and saw sadness.

“I have nowhere to be. It’s Christmas. I’m free to be with you if you want me. I’m no threat. I’d love to help you…at least to your door, Simi.”

Her longing to have a man like him with her for comfort, help, and maybe more seeded acceptance and trust in her heart. She gripped his overcoat as she leaned into him again, trying to excuse her outburst about flattery. “I’m not used to knights in shining armor.” She limped off again and he walked with her, his arm around her, almost lifting her from her feet. His pace slowed to give her time to accommodate the lack of a heel on one shoe.

“I’ve not been that for a long time.” His murmured words brought a smile to her lips and she took a deep breath, deciding to talk with him as they made their way to her apartment. “Have you been to a party or something?”

“I’ve been—” He told her, but dipped his head as the sleet became heavier.

Simi didn’t hear the end of his sentence. It was whirled away by the weather’s onslaught. The wind made the icy rain slant into her overcoat collar. She cuddled against him.

Jason stopped walking. He gave her a gentle smile. “We’ll be frozen and saturated by the time we get to your place.” Then he picked her up in his strong arms and cradled her to his body. “I’ll carry you.”

As he enveloped her in his arms, her face rested on his chest. A vague fragrance of pine needles and trees drifted around her. His arm under her thighs warmed her. His arm crushing her to his muscled chest reminded her of the dream she’d had. He was every bit as gorgeous and sexy as the man in her dream. Simi’s heart filled up with hope. Whatever he was offering this night she would take. This was the most comforted and cared for she’d felt in a very long time. As Jason walked with her, she snuggled into his aura. He exuded masculinity, strength, protection, sex. It felt good. “Thank you. My place is at the end of this street.”

From Elodie,

My hero, Jason Chandler, doesn’t know what he is. Maybe an angel, or a spirit, he only knows he’s given assignments to fulfill by the enigmatic higher powers of the universe. This assignment is different, and when he finds himself materialize beside Simi, my heroine, he’s instantly hopeful that his lonely existence is about to change.  With an HEA , this story is full of love and magic.

Read Jason's explanation of what he is to himself (book teaser)

Jason followed as she went to the dining room.

She put the candlestick in the middle with a happy sigh.

He smiled at her. “How can I help?”

Simi opened the door on a low cabinet. She took out rolled, fine wooden-slat, place mats and unfurled each on the table. “Talk to me. Tell me about yourself. Where do you work? Where do you live? I want to know all about you, or at least something.” She laughed then.

The sound took away the fear that spiked up Jason’s spine when she asked the specific questions about him. I’ll tell her what I can without frightening her away. He opted for that.

“I have assignments from a—a group that are designed to help people...solve problems. I live around here.” The ether wasn’t so far above the terrestrial sphere, scientifically, and mystical enough to be almost everywhere, so that was okay to say. I can’t say I only work at Christmas, though. I can’t say I’m some sort of spirit doing penance for dabbling in magic, can I?

Simi placed cut crystal, long-stemmed glasses on each mat. She grinned at him. “Are you a social worker?”

Jason shook his head.

Simi considered for a few moments. “You’re a company troubleshooter. No wonder you’re a little cagey about that. Ours is a shark. He can put a positive light on the trickiest complaint.”

“Oh, no, that’s not how I operate. I really help, even if it’s just for a short time.” That much was true. He’d brought comfort, strokes of good luck, better outlooks, the coincidence of friends meeting lost friends or family, the avoidance of an accident not meant to happen, although never what he’d brought Simi, never sex and … and love.

Get your vampire fix with mysterious, sexy Dhruv…

Dhruv picked up his coffee and for an instant, she thought he would drink. He didn’t. He put the cup back down as if his thoughts had interrupted his intention to drink.

“Do you ever have a free night, a night when you aren’t working here?”

She was surprised and delighted by his question. He was going to ask her out.

“I can take time if I want to.” She waited as he stared at her. He licked his lips. She wanted to put her mouth against his and have her lips licked too.

“Could you leave early tonight? It would be great to take a walk with you. I live opposite the park, the one with the duck pond. It’s very beautiful in the moonlight. I love the night. It’s so calm and supportive.” It was the most he had ever said to her in one go. Daisy smiled, enchanted by his low voice and graceful words.

“I can leave early, and I’d love to walk with you.” She didn’t give one thought to the fact that she knew very little about him. The spell of his beauty, his husky voice, and the lure of being alone with him drove any safety considerations from her mind.

He had never smiled, but now he did, and it lit his face.

“Soon, let’s go soon.” His eyes didn’t leave hers. Daisy thought she might vault the counter and run away with him right then.

"A Little Mysterious is a steamy love story guaranteed to burn up the sheets and the story of how Dhruv came to find Daisy was fantastic. Although this is a short story, Parks packs it with all the right details to make us not only care about the characters, but about how their story turns out."

Meet a #wolfshifter in #midweektease #PNR from @sirenbookstrand

Eden hovered a few steps from the door. He pulled himself together. Get a grip. Don’t mess this up.
Eden hadn’t ever been in love, but he’d tried. He used to date occasionally, but the last time was two years ago. Eden had waited for love to hit him. He was kind and gentle with the girls who’d obviously hoped to be with him, but the certainty that somewhere his destined mate waited for him, kept him at arm’s length emotionally.
He took a table near the window, caressing Liberty with his gaze. He drank in the sight of her.
Her light brown hair, streaked with sun-lightened golden strands, fell around her shoulders, held away from her face by a wide black satin ribbon. She moved elegantly, her slender form emphasized beneath the dark blue café server’s ankle-length apron.
When she turned and saw him, her expression held pure joy.
Eden stood as she approached his table. He smiled at her, knowing his expression would match hers. His instinct was to hug her close. In his rapidly beating heart, he felt as if he already knew her well. His wolf bowed to her, so he placed a hand on his chest and inclined his head in a swift old-fashioned movement before he spoke. “Liberty, it’s great to see you.”
Liberty stared at him.
It was as if she’d seen into his soul. Her eyes glowed with recognition and—yes, he knew that look—hope.
“It’s good to see you back.”
She gripped her little order notebook with knuckles that were turning white as he looked them over, wishing he could kiss the tension away.
He sat, deciding that might make her more comfortable.
“What can I get you?” Her voice was so laden with emotion Eden had to take a deep breath before he could answer.
“I noticed you did spaghetti when I read the menu. I’d love some.”
“It’s tomato and meatball sauce tonight. Is that okay?”
Eden experienced a wave of tenderness as a little frown appeared fleetingly on her face.
“It’s perfect, thank you.”
“We bring a short French breadstick and a side of grated Pecorino Romano, too.”
Eden smiled, not wanting to say he never used cheese. “Could I get a glass of ice water?”
Liberty nodded. “I’ll pass your order in.” She turned to go.
Eden gazed after her.
All through eating his meal, he rehearsed what he’d say to her. He lingered over coffee and then another cup waiting for closing time. At nine, Liberty’s helper, Craig, left along with the last customer.
Liberty came over to Eden with the coffeepot in her hand. “Would you like more coffee?”
He put his hand over his cup. “No, thank you. I’m good. Unless…unless you’d like to get a cup and join me? If you have time?” He bestowed a charming smile on her, hoping she’d join him.
“Sure, I will do that. I’ll just lock the door.” She flipped the open sign to closed and clicked the lock on the door. She was on her way to the counter with the coffeepot in one hand when Eden caught up with her.
He stood next to the counter and waited for her to pour coffee into one of the café’s signature blue cups. “Could we sit up here in the low light? I feel a little exposed at the window table now you’ve closed.” He desperately wanted a few moments of privacy with her. “People might think you’re still open.”
He brought her coffee cup to a nearby table that had already been cleared and pulled out a chair for her.
Liberty’s eyes lit up with pleasure and she sat. “Thank you.”
Eden brought a chair for himself closer. “Thank you for having coffee with me before I go off to my empty motel room.”
She glanced over at the table where he’d left his coffee cup. “Oh, let me get yours.”
Eden stopped her with a gentle hand on her arm. Touching her made him tremble. He looked into her eyes as she turned her face to his. She’s mine. She is mine. Finally—my love, my mate. “No, it’s okay.” He moved his hand from her arm reluctantly.
She faltered and then nodded. “So you haven’t bought a place yet?”
Through the haze of falling in love with her and recognizing his long hoped for mate, he understood her need to know about him. “I have, but it’s not furnished yet. It’s the apartment over the store, not far down the main street on the opposite side to this café. It used to be a shoe shop. I’m opening an office, though, not a store. I hope to move in tomorrow. Things are arriving.” He soaked up the pleasure of being close to her. He longed to touch her again. Doesn’t she know I’m a wolf, too? Doesn’t she feel this urgent need to hold each other close? I’d stopped believing in the wolf bond, but now I know it’s true. He reached for her hand. “Liberty, I’m so very glad I came here. I never expected to meet someone like you, but I can’t tell you what a pleasure it is to have met you.” Eden had no reservations about going after Liberty. If the stories he’d been told about the wolf bond were true, she’d know, even subconsciously, that he was meant for her.
She didn’t answer, but she left her hand in his and her eyes betrayed her desire.
Eden’s stomach tightened as she curled her fingers around his. For some reason the satin sheath of her fingers brought to mind another place he’d like to explore. His cock stirred, and he transferred his gaze to her mouth. He leaned toward her, needing to kiss her so much.
She leaned closer to him.
The space between them seemed to grow thick. Eden couldn’t pull away.
Liberty was a whisper away and then as he closed his eyes, her lips touched his.
He fell into the kiss, drifting in the intense pleasure until every muscle in his body felt melted, except for his cock, which was rock hard and straining at his jeans. He couldn’t open his eyes. They were heavy with lust. He didn’t want the kiss to end.

She still held his fingers, but he slipped his other hand around her head, into her hair, grasping a fistful of the silken wealth and kept her face to his so that he could prolong the kiss. As soon as one ended, he took another, lingering, murmuring low sounds of enjoyment. He’d kissed before, received kisses before, but never like this, never felt drugged and melted.

Alpha Blood Treat (Pack Warriors #2)  FREE READ

It had been years since the pack wars.  Some are still dealing with the fallout, but all have scars that have never fully healed.  Despite all of this, Gemma, Jordan, and Kane have managed to build a happy life for themselves and their twin boys.

Their holidays may be bittersweet, but their love and passion for each other are even fierier than ever.  Will pack skirmishes, wayward security business clients, and rowdy little boys get in the way of a night full of promise, or will Jordan and Kane manage to fulfill Gemma’s every desire?

EXCERPT:

“I finally got the boys to—” Kane stopped dead in his tracks in the doorway to his bedroom, his words completely failing him due to the sight that greeted him.
Gemma was sprawled out in the center of their king-sized bed, wearing nothing but the wolf ears headband she wore earlier as part of her Halloween costume, her lips quirking into a sly little smile at the sight of him. A goddess, she was bare before him in a lazily relaxed pose. Her left leg was straight, her right, bent at the knee and spread open, revealing her glistening, pink pussy. Both arms were loosely stretched above her head in a pose that conveyed, come and get me and do to me what you will. Kane would happily oblige as soon as he was able to get his frozen self to move.
He couldn’t help but marvel at her beauty for a moment more. She had him tied up in knots all evening with her sexy, little wolf outfit, the hilarity of her costume choice notwithstanding. The beige, faux-fur trimmed dress hugged her every curve, flaring out at mid thigh, and revealing just enough cleavage to be sexy, yet classy. That didn’t stop other males from ogling Gemma, something that one angry, possessive look from either Jordan or Kane had them regretting. Completing her ensemble was a tail, faux-fur boots that went almost up to her knee, and the headband she was currently wearing. Damn, he and Jordan were two of the luckiest sons of bitches.
Sons of bitches who adamantly refused … for as long as they could … to wear any sort of costume. Kane had learned pretty quickly that he could not refuse Gemma anything that would make her and their three-year-old boys happy, especially if not giving in would make them unhappy. So he and Jordan begrudgingly donned last minute, makeshift costumes, which Kane had to also begrudgingly admit, looked pretty bad ass!
He had applied some of Gemma’s makeup to make himself look like Eric Draven from The Crow—the black eye-liner and dark shadow only, since Gemma did not own any white face paint. The black leather pants, skin-tight, black, long-sleeved shirt, and black boots were already part of his wardrobe. He went sans the long, black coat because Jordan needed it for his costume. In addition to Kane’s coat, Jordan wore black slacks, a ribbed, black undershirt and black boots with buckles on them. When he put on his dark aviators, his Neo from The Matrix look was complete.
Gemma squealed with glee when they had surprised her with their costumes. Both characters were from two of her favorite movies. “You both look way hotter, though,” she had said. And from the scent of her arousal, Kane had no doubt she meant it.
“I think you boys deserve a treat later,” Gemma said with a devilish wink. She then sauntered off into the family room adding just a little extra sway to her hips.

He lifted her ass with strong hands and leaned over her, kissing up her stomach to her breasts, and his cock slid into her, filling, stretching, until the hard length of him was deep inside her pussy.
Liberty gasped at the first thrust. It was so incredibly yummy. She held him against her body and wrapped her legs around his hips, digging her heels into his ass to keep him close.

Elodie Parkes does a great job carrying over issues from the first book, Surprising the Alpha.... Her characters are well-developed and believable. Liberty is a fun heroine. She had been lonely until Eden enters into her life. I had a lot of respect for Eden.... He is brave and determined. The two make a magnetic couple. I loved the mystery in the plot. I thought the case that Eden was working on was fascinating and tied in well with the series. Some interesting things come into play toward the end of the story that I’m looking forward to reading about in the next book. This is a great series. I enjoyed this book even more then the first one. Thank you for writing it!

#ScintillatingSunday

The huge gray wolf skirted the perimeter of the orchards, and then, dropping his pace to a dogtrot, he sniffed the air, and followed the new scents. They were human and something else, some sweet herbal scent he didn’t recognize. There was just the merest hint of wolf, too, but he dismissed it. Perhaps Lucas has been to see Becky in the last weekvague though for a scent that should be familiar to me…too vague…I could be mistaken… Intrigued by the scents, Joshua dropped the thought and went to investigate.

He leapt the low hedge that separated the orchards from the land where the owning family’s house stood. A shiny blue SUV with California plates stood on the drive. The new scents swirled around there. Joshua picked out one and breathed it in. Female—delicious. The perfume enticed and beguiled him. He dropped to the ground in a patch of giant white daises. I want to see her. The need to set eyes on the female drove all other thought from him. The herbal and the female scents filled his head. He swallowed down a surprising urge to howl.

Dani Cruz ran down the steps from the veranda, her glossy brown hair streaming out behind her. The top four buttons of her white cotton shirt were undone and as she moved, the warm breeze flattened the fabric against her breasts. She strode to the SUV.

Mesmerized by her loveliness, the wolf froze to watch her. The way her slim hips moved, her thighs in the tight denim jeans, and the tilt of her head showing her slender neck trapped him in a spell of desire the like he’d never felt before. Joshua snuffled, a sound somewhere between a whimper and a growl. He bathed in her scent. He soaked up the sight of her. She’s beautiful. She’s mine. Who is she? I have to know. I have to meet her.

Enchanted, he gazed at her as she got into the SUV and drove away. Joshua rose up on his powerful hind legs and leapt after the vehicle. At the end of the long driveway, he came to his senses and stopped chasing the SUV. He sat down for a moment his breath strangely stolen from him. He panted, and shook his huge head to rid himself of the captivating female perfume. Joshua’s blue gaze raked the surrounding countryside. The noise of the car engine was faint now. The gray wolf stood again, trotted along the path, and then changed direction to head for home. Thoughts traveled through his head as he crossed the lush terrain. Maybe she’s visiting the family before they move. Maybe she’s come to help them move. Maybe she’s the person who’s buying the orchards…Lucas might know. Hell, but she’s gorgeous, so sexy. I want her…

As he hurtled up the drive to his house, he shifted, and then came to a skidding standstill on the gravel in front of the porch. His clothes were neatly piled on the step, so someone had been home. He checked the scent, Ryder. He dragged on his jeans and T-shirt before looking around for his boots. They remained strewn by his truck. Joshua walked over and slipped them on. He opened the truck door and brought his cell phone out of the glove compartment. A missed call displayed—Liberty. I’ll go see her.

The high street shimmered in the heat of the late afternoon sun. Joshua counted another two closed-up shops, their windows covered with brown paper, and then he saw two sold signs on shops close to Liberty’s café. That’s hopeful at least. I wonder who’s bought them?

He brought his truck to a halt on the road outside the café and jumped out.
Ryder must have seen him coming because he opened the door wide and grinned at Joshua. “I just fixed this, Josh, so I’d appreciate you simply walking through without touching anything. Did you hear the news, is that why you’re back?”

Excerpt
"You will do as you're told." He yanked on the curl he had captured and she had no choice but to stare at his mesmerising gold eyes.
Swallowing at the invisible lump in her throat, she tried to force her head away from his dangerous gaze but could not break his hold over her. She wanted to roar in exasperation, for this mess could rival the Minos Labyrinth. She felt helpless and frustrated. They were two emotions she had very little experience with and she preferred it that way. “Or what?” Lainey tried to bite back the retort but it was too late, the damage was done.
When the vamp looked down at her, his eyes were rapidly darkening and his face was contorting with anger.
She swallowed hard knowing she’d pushed him too far. Instinctively trying to back up, the wall was unforgiving and she smacked her head against it. His head was coming towards hers yet there was not a thing she could do about it. Wanting to scream, all that came out of her mouth was a pathetic little squeak.
He didn’t stop until his forehead rested against hers, his breath blowing heated little flutters against her lip.
Her pulse immediately rocketed into orbit and her senses fled. She was only aware of his tempting soft lips, and a great urge to kiss them. For a second, she had a strangled moment of indecision, unsure whether she was willing her body to remain still or urging it to close those last few millimeters separating her mouth from his. Still stranded in torment, he smiled at her as if he knew the inner struggle she was having, and finally made the decision for her.
Pulling back abruptly, he put some distance between them by slamming both of his outstretched arms on either side of her head. It made her jump. Eyes which had licks of red and orange flames resting in their depths connected once again with hers, and although he was a little further away this time, it didn’t make him seem any less intimidating. “A nice punishing kiss would probably keep you in line for a couple of days, I think. Should I bruise those soft sweet lips of yours and train them to worship mine? I have a feeling though that once I get a taste for you there’ll be no going back. Then again, seeing a lovesick doe-eyed look in those eyes wouldn’t be so bad. What do you say?” He unleashed the full power of his smile upon her and whilst there was no warmth behind it, Lainey got the message.
“No,” she whispered, immediately understanding what he had threatened. “I’ll do whatever you say, no questions asked.” She could not be bitten under any circumstances.
He huffed out a breath, and slowly removed his hands from the wall.
Lainey sighed with relief as she had a little breathing space back but something akin to disappointment washed through her veins, and it horrified her. She could not feel this way, especially anywhere near a vampire.
“Well, I guess that spoiled all my fun for the evening,” he said regretfully. “But it should make the next couple of days rather interesting because at the first sign of disobedience, I’m claiming my kiss, Miss Hargreaves. Are we clear?” He raised an eyebrow and gave her a lopsided grin.
Lainey shuddered. “Crystal.” “Good.” “Who are you?” There was a hint of fear in her voice.
“My name is Mercer.” “Mercer who?”
Lainey pushed her hands against his chest and he backed up a little bit, allowing her a chance to examine him.
“That’s all you need to know."

Yay release day and #MWTease for sizzling #PNR #eroticromance 'Deep Dream' @HotInkBooks #vampire

#MWTease

He gazed into her eyes.

Anna soaked up the sight of him. His eyes so blue, fringed with dark lashes, the planes of his handsome face and the perfectly kissable lips were such a lethally gorgeous combination the pleasure of looking at him was almost painful. She sighed with the need to touch him, kiss him, feel his hands on her, and even to her ears, her sigh sounded desperate. She lifted his hand to press it to her breast.
Ethan flicked his gaze to their clasped hands on her body. When he brought his eyes back to look into hers, his expression had changed.

The sexual heat in his darkened eyes sent a melting sensation from her stomach to her knees. Anna wanted Ethan so badly the words simply spilled from her lips as she moistened them with the tip of her tongue.
“Come home with me.”

Ethan’s nod was so slight she nearly didn’t catch it, but then his arm was around her and she was floating toward the club exit.

They were on the street. The bright lights glittered hot pink, white, and amber along the sidewalk from the late-night clubs and bars. They passed a coffee shop and Ethan hailed a cab that was about to pull away from the curb.
“My place is nearby. Will you come home with me?” He opened the back door of the cab.

Anna nodded, unable to speak as he bent close to kiss her neck.

Ethan closed his eyes and kissed her. The kiss devastated him. He held her head to keep her mouth on his. His hunger for her kisses astounded him, drove him to murmur low sounds and linger against her lips even when he felt her search for a breath. He broke away a fraction to let her breathe. His whole body spiked with desire. He’d forgotten how consuming lust was when love claimed someone. His cock strained at his jeans and he crushed her against his body to kiss her again.

Her arms went up around his neck and she pressed against him in response. Her kiss held passion and tenderness.

Ethan soaked it up. He left her lips and buried his face in the soft part of her shoulder. His fangs lengthened, but he ignored them. He’d taught his body to feed along with sex and he could control that now. He wasn’t hungry except for her body, for the feel of her skin, the squeeze of her pussy as he sank his cock into her, and for her love. He gently let her go.

“I’ll drive you home.” He whispered the words again.
