Devil’s Boneyard MC #11

Contemporary Romance, Motorcycle Club, Age-Gap

Date Published: February 18, 2022

Publisher: Changeling Press

Dakota -- Having a half-brother who’s an infamous assassin isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. At twenty-five, he’s still micromanaging my life. The moment Specter tells me about an arranged marriage to one of his associates I do what any sane woman would… I run. Never counted on meeting a biker I can’t seem to forget, nor did I plan on our two days together to have lasting consequences. When bad men find me, there’s only one person I want. Charming. I’m just not certain I’ll get a warm reception.

Charming -- Dakota is different from anyone I’ve ever known, and it’s not because of who her brother is. It’s simply her. Some sixth sense keeps telling me she’s in trouble. When she calls and asks for help, I know I’ll do anything for her. The men after her have no idea she’s mine, or that she’s carrying my kid, but they will soon enough. I won’t rest until they’re six feet under.

WARNING: Charming is part of the Devil’s Boneyard MC series and can be read as a stand-alone. There’s a guaranteed happily-ever-after, no cliffhanger, and no cheating. This is an age-gap romance of more than twenty years with bad language, adult situations, and violence.

Excerpt

“Stop daydreaming, Dakota,” my boss barked from farther down the bar.

I gave him a salute, grabbed the pitcher of beer and mugs, then carried them over to one of my tables. The guys were obnoxious, with way too many grabby hands. I’d already tried moving away multiple times, but it did little good. They latched onto me just the same. Glaring didn’t help either. At one inch shy of being five feet tall, I wasn’t exactly intimidating. Not even to drunk guys who looked barely twenty-one. In fact, I’d wondered if their IDs were fake, but the boss had let them order alcohol.

Not my circus, not my monkeys. If the big guy wanted to get in trouble for serving minors, that was all on him.

“Can I get you anything else?” I asked.

“How about your number?” one of them asked, leering at me.

“Nah, we don’t need her number. Why don’t you give us a round of blowjobs?” All of them laughed. I knew the boss wouldn’t take kindly to me dumping a pitcher of beer over their heads, but it was tempting. My hand tightened on the handle as I slowly counted to ten silently, hoping to cool my temper.

Before I could even respond, a tall man with scruff along his jaw and a leather cut over his shoulders slammed the guy’s head into the table. “Apologize.”

I hadn’t even seen him! Where the hell had he come from? I glanced around and saw several people staring in our direction. The guy pinned to the table didn’t seem so tough now. I got a closer look at the man who’d come to my rescue.

My heart skipped a beat, and I wanted to check my chin for drool. Handsome men were a dime a dozen. Even big sexy ones. But something about this one checked all the boxes for me.

Romance on the Go is a popular short story line from Evernight Publishing

Tease me please:
Nick’s gaze followed the man’s hands and then traced the planes of his handsome face. They stood close to a newspaper and magazine kiosk. The brilliant light from the neon tube snaking around the overhanging roof, and the blinking fairy lights, cast the man alternately in violet and then white illumination. Nick sighed inwardly at the perfect blue of the man’s eyes and the shapely mouth that he already ached to kiss. He introduced himself.
“Nick Kringle—pleased to meet you. Can I give you a ride anywhere?

Lucian’s gaze traced the planes of Beau’s face. He lingered soaking up the sight of Beau’s enticing lips, and then looked quickly back into Beau’s attractive green eyes. “Sure, but I did work with that PI in Salem during vacations, remember? Hey, Beau, it’ll be easy for you. A couple of week’s solid work and you’ll be licensed. What are you worried about?”

Beau smiled and leaned close. “Now you ask, since you believe in me, not a thing.”

Lucian’s heart flipped. Sometimes, when Beau was near, Lucian had to drive down an urgent need to kiss him. Lucian couldn’t even imagine what would happen if Beau discovered how he felt. He preferred not to dwell on the possible answers. He moved back from Beau’s proximity. “That’s okay then.” Lucian slipped away, and walked to the window of his study, set up in the second bedroom of his waterfront floating home. He opened the glazed door and stepped out onto the rain-drenched balcony.

Read the tease

He wanted Ellie so much it scared him. He wanted her to need and trust him, to let him give her the sex she must want since she frequented Candy Apple, a sex club. He knew he’d become obsessed with her. It’s because she’s a mystery. Tonight he was going to approach her. He’d waited long enough.
A couple he knew passed him on their way to a private room. Jake nodded in a silent greeting. The aroma of coffee filled his head as the door to the small café in the club swung open—and she was there. The light from behind her displayed the delightful contours of her body beneath the scrap of fabric that was her dress. Her long nut-brown hair shone pale in the glow before the door closed behind her.
She passed him as she went to the small area where a number of tables were arranged.
He savored the sight of her shapely thighs as her dress swished high around them when she walked. He imagined stroking along each thigh to the curve of her ass. He wondered if she liked toys. He could show her how to reach such heights of pleasure with a vibrator buzzing on her lubed clit. What is she waiting for, he asked himself, as he glanced her way and saw her take a seat at a table.
He knew that sometimes she’d watch as other couples used the area to pet, to kiss, to ready each other for fucking. Maybe she’s a voyeur. The sex club accommodated many sexual practices. Swingers and couples simply looking to spice up their relationship used the place as well as those people rigidly following a lifestyle. They accessed the special rooms in the dungeon of the club, a place Jake had never been. He wasn’t a member of the Candy Apple Dungeon.
The club was filling up as Jake waited. One of the owners opened the doors to the dance floor and secured them with metal hooks in the eyelets attached to the wall. A series of still photographs were projected onto the huge white wall on one side of the room. They were pretty and sexy shots of pouting lips, bare asses, stocking tops, with the occasional soft porn pose thrown in to add an element of sexual surprise.
Jake stood and walked to where Ellie sat.

Read a teaser:
Jake drove to the Candy Apple and found a park in the lot they provided. There was no valet parking there. The Candy Apple was a semi-secretive place. Once a gentlemen’s club, the building ranged over four floors, though the basement floor wasn’t generally obvious, Jake knew about it. The exterior was verging on vintage, but an incredibly bright awning festooned the entry and extended to the wide first floor window where the coffee bar was situated. Over the top of the awning and around the shallow porch, shocking pink and white neon lights cast their glow onto the sidewalk. The steps leading to the front door shimmered under these lights and when it rained had the appearance of a surreal waterfall. No one entered the club unless they were a member. It seemed that introduction by a current member was the only way to join.
Jake strode along the white paved path leading from the parking lot and that joined the main street sidewalk. He ran up the short stoop of the club building, and met the security on the door. They knew him, but glanced at his membership card anyway.
“Good evening, Sir.”
He grinned at them. “Hi, is the place busy?”
“Not yet. Have a pleasant night.”
He smiled as he took the wide hall that led into the low-lit main room.
Jake sank gratefully onto the couch and stretched out his long legs. He leaned against the sumptuous, leather backrest to wait for midnight. His heartbeat practically matched the low thump of bass in the dance music seeping from the adjacent room. A sudden burst of the melody assailed his ears as the door opened and someone came through. He avoided the glance of the solitary man who passed him and studied the toes of his boots considering Ellie.
For the last five weeks, each Saturday night, Jake had watched her arrive at the club around twelve, sit quietly at one of the tables for an hour, and then leave. Initially, she’d been introduced to the place by a couple who were long-term members of the elite sex club—the Candy Apple. As far as Jake knew she hadn’t hooked up with anyone, and that intrigued him. He’d heard that she was looking for a Dom, but it appeared no one here appealed to her, because he’d seen her decline advances repeatedly. All the same, that rumor had stopped him approaching her so far. Maybe she’s not looking for a Dom at all, which would be good. Maybe she just needs the right guy to approach her...
He thought about her lovely face and the way her long hair caressed her bare shoulders as she sat at the table as if waiting. She always wore such clingy dresses it was easy to see the shape of her body. He’d watched as she walked, savored the gentle curve of her hips, licked his lips at the sight of her peaked nipples in the air-conditioned room. His fingers itched to roll those peaks. He ached to kiss her pretty mouth.

The lights are lit in the old Louisiana mansion. The party begins. #MWTease #teaser #romance

#MWTease from Thursday June 16 Evernight Publishing release
Leave me Breathless

The outside of Magnolias had been painted a cool, ethereal blue in the seventies, many years before Seth Callahan bought the mansion. The house took its name from the abundance of beautiful flowering trees that grew along one side of the estate, and no one could remember the place ever being called anything else. As the sun set, the blue became tinged with a multitude of almost transparent pinks that shimmered in the hot summer air. That’s when the silver-white fairy lights would appear twinkling in the grounds of Magnolias, and soft strains of music drifted on the evening breeze.

Seth had fallen in love with the mansion and surrounding estate as soon as he saw it. The whole place evoked fantasies in Seth’s lonely heart, and filled it with hope of erotic nights. Seth’s somber moods lifted there, and it wasn’t long before he found a way to share this sexy atmosphere with the beautiful and curious people in town.
* * * *
Seth watched from his seat on the balcony as the stream of people arrived at the house party. He’d divided his massive French Colonial style house into public and private, much like his life. Seth had built two reputations since arriving from New York four years earlier, one as a high-achieving businessman, and the other as the host of an elite sex club that operated under the guise of house parties. Seth liked to sit on the wraparound balcony of Magnolias, his Louisiana home, with a glass of iced tea, and check out the people who’d come to sample swinging, swapping, and the sensual dance of flirting that led to sex if they chose.

He swished the remains of the pale golden liquid around. It had warmed in the humid air, and Seth placed the tall glass on the table. Enticing laughter reached him. He stood to lean over the balcony rail and look more closely at his guests.

That’s when he saw her, the pale-green silk of her dress blown against her body in a revealing caress by the evening breeze. The thin fabric outlined her nipples and flat stomach. It clung to her as if in love with the perfection of her figure. Seth’s gaze followed the flow of her long dark hair as tendrils lifted and swept her breasts. He sighed with pleasure. The sight of her made his cock stir. She’s lovely, sexy body. Wonder who she is? Maybe Pearl knows. Who’s that she’s with?

He tried to memorize Tom’s touch #MWTease #MMromance 'Love Unmasked' @EncompassInk #coverreveal

#MWTease from 'Love Unmasked' with cover reveal for
June 23 release from Encompass Ink
MM erotic romance with a twist
Handsome Tom Wells sets lonely Scott Palmer’s heart racing as he watches Tom come and go from his apartment across the street. Scott longs to meet Tom. Scott needs a new job and when he scores one delivering goods for a local distributer, fate hands him the opportunity.
Tom works in a nightclub—the Candy Apple, and in the sultry environs, a masked stranger seduces Tom. The seeds of passion are sown, but who has ignited Tom’s passion?
Scott’s longing to know Tom leads him to join the elite club. On his first visit, the nightclub holds a masquerade event.
Who is kissing who? Who’s under the black velvet mask?

Read the tease:
He shook Tom’s hand. The clench of Tom’s fingers around his palm sent a jolt of attraction through Scott’s stomach. He tried to memorize Tom’s touch. He held onto Tom’s fingers so long he suddenly dropped the handshake in embarrassment.
Tom gazed at him.
Scott couldn’t read the expression in Tom’s eyes. He’d never been good at picking a straight acting guy’s sexual preference. If he went out, he frequented known gay bars so that there’d be no mistakes. Right then his nerves clouded his judgement further. He locked looks with Tom’s just to soak up the sight of Tom’s blue eyes. His hungry gaze traced lips that beckoned to him, until he yearned to kiss them, and hair that looked soft and easy to grab as he fucked the breath from Tom, the man of his dreams.
Tom broke their shared stare. He gestured to the delivery truck. “We have two large kegs ordered. Will you need help?”
Scott forced himself back to business. “No, I’m good. What about the crated beers? Where will I bring them?”
Tom half turned to indicate the double door and the corridor beyond. “The storeroom—I’ll show you.”
Scott followed Tom to the storeroom door and looked in.
“Sure, okay, and do I put the boxes of champagne in there?”
Tom turned so that he was close, so close to Scott, in fact, that his shoulder was a whisper away. “Yes, thanks.”
Scott backed away with desire burning in his balls, and then strode out to the truck. His heart’s desire, Tom, had been so close he could have kissed those perfect lips. He could have hugged him against his body. Scott sighed. His stomach ached with the need to have Tom for his own. A strange trembling gripped Scott. He’d wanted for Tom for so long and now he had no idea if he would ever stand a chance. Tom was probably straight.
Scott completed the delivery. He’d left the PDA in the cab of the truck and went to get it so that Tom could sign for the goods. He heard Tom’s footsteps crunching on the gravel and then Tom was by his side.
Scott straightened and faced Tom. “Please sign here. He pointed the stylus at the bottom box of a document on the screen. Then he held out the PDA and the stylus.”
Tom’s fingers stroked his taking the stylus.
A frown of sadness and longing creased Scott’s forehead.
Tom looked into his face as he handed back the PDA. “There you go.”
Scott took the little electronic device and managed a sad smile. “Thank you, Mr. Wells.”
Tom grinned. “Hey, call me Tom.”
Scott couldn’t speak. He nodded, his eyes searching Tom’s face for any sign of attraction or glimmer of recognition that they were both gay.

Tom left him standing there by the truck.

An erotic MM romance, with a twist and HEA.

Their bodies brushed enticingly together.
Tom stared into the man’s darkened eyes as their faces became level and then the guy grabbed him.
He pushed Tom against the wall behind the closed door and frantically opened Tom’s pants. In seconds he had them down around Tom’s muscled thighs, and his hands pushed into Tom’s black boxers, to grasp Tom’s cock.
The sudden passion buckled Tom’s knees. His cock pulsed. His hips jerked forward in a thrust. He murmured, “Fucking hell.”

 About Shelly:
Who am I? I’m someone who has been writing literally her entire life (and that’s a LONG time) and has always written M/M. My first story was back in high school and I haven’t stopped since. Of course I never dreamed of getting published so needless to say, I’m in heaven! I am currently single but have had long term relationships with both sexes, have a grown daughter (born from artificial insemination back when it was unheard of!) and an adorable grandson. I stay pretty much to myself and have a Bachelor’s in Social Services. I have a diverse background that ranges from theater to health care and currently in accounting (I know! How boring!). I was born and raised in Arizona but currently live in California because this is where the money is! My writing focus is real people, flaws and all, who are hurting or damaged but deserve a little joy in their lives. I love my characters and while this is the first publication, it is by far not the last! I plan on being around for quite some time! You’ve been warned!

The perfume from the flowers that a few seconds ago had been so enjoyable, suddenly overwhelmed him with sticky sweetness. He dropped the petal on the table, next to his discarded drink, and walked swiftly through the room to the patio. She’s new in town, and already in a private booth with the curtain closed … fucking hell, and with two men … two men. A frown creased between his eyes as he realized how inexplicably upset the news had made him. What the hell is wrong with me? I’ve only glimpsed this woman.

The warmth of the evening hit him as he charged to the end of the patio and stood by the trellis of purple Clematis trying to calm himself and identify exactly why his reaction was so strong. He dragged off the jacket that he liked to wear in the chilly air-con of the house. The tailored linen usually added to his elegance, but now he dropped it to the tiled floor, uncaring.

Connor closed his eyes, shuffled down, and leaned his back on the wall of the crate. He concentrated on happy thoughts, picturing the white sand and clear seas of the islands. Sweat trickled between his shoulder blades, and down into his eyes from his forehead. He wiped it away with the back of his hand, and ran his fingers into his hair to take it from his brow.

The minutes, the outside voice had reassured him with, dragged by, until Connor had to swallow down the need to scream for help. Then with no warning, the lid of the crate lifted with a loud cracking sound as it was levered open by something like a tire iron. Connor immediately began to scramble to his feet only to be lifted off them by two men. They bundled him along to the deck of the outrigger he’d taken that morning hoping to reach Gili in peace.
They dragged him, his tiptoes scraping on the wood, until they reached the side of the boat when they threw him into the ocean.

Connor had been too stunned by what was happening, and blinded by the brilliant sunshine that he’d not uttered a word, but now he hollered, “Hey … hey,” in outrage.
He hit the sea and sank with the force of velocity, and then he surfaced spluttering and paddled to keep himself afloat. Connor swam very well and he felt stronger in the water than he’d felt in the crate. He looked around crawling to a safe distance from the turning prow of the boat from which the men had thrown him. A speedboat was heading his way at the same time as the outrigger was heading away.

The craft neared and circled him.

She wanted something if it was only a kiss #erotic #romance #SnippetSunday

 'Leave me Breathless'
#SnippetSunday
Be teased.

Rosanna took a deep breath. She wanted something tonight, if it was only a kiss. She walked to him. Her heels clicked on the patio tiles. A cricket sang loudly. Clouds scudded across the moon.

He turned to her as she reached his side. His gaze traveled from her head to her toes and back to her eyes. He smiled slowly.

Rosanna wanted no misunderstandings that night. She stepped close and pushed her arms up around his neck, standing on tiptoe in her high-heeled shoes to reach his lips. She molded her body to his and kissed him.

Seth returned her kiss, grabbing her ass to keep her body pressed to his.

The kiss sent her reeling into a haze of desire. She struggled to open her lust heavy eyes, wanting to speak to Seth. She tried to draw away from his face, but as soon as she broke a kiss, he pushed his face to hers, taking kiss after kiss. Her nose smudged against his cheek. She clung to him sighing with pleasure as he lifted her from her feet. She wrapped her legs around his hips and nestled her face in his neck as he carried her into the house and up the stairs to a private booth on the mezzanine floor.
